FOREST, Va. --- We've reached that time, the final weekly awards of the year as the spring sports have either concluded their conference tournaments or are gearing up for them. Those earning weekly awards include (pictured, l-r, t-b): Annie McCorry from Shenandoah women's lacrosse, Jack Hodgson from Washington and Lee men's lacrosse, Michael Moody from Hampden-Sydney men's tennis, Jamiah Lewis from Bridgewater women's tennis, John Ruhlman from Roanoke baseball, and Abel Arocho from SU baseball.

BASEBALL - PITCHER
John Ruhlman, Roanoke, Sr., Starting Pitcher
Ruhlman, a senior from Virginia Beach, Va., picked up a pair of big ODAC wins last week to help Roanoke secure a spot in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Ruhlman started and worked the first five innings in a 3-0 win at Emory & Henry. He have allowed just two hits with a walk while fanning three before leaving the ballgame. Ruhlman took to the hill a second time in a 5-3 victory over Randolph-Macon. He worked eight solid innings, giving up two runs on seven hits. He walked three and struck out five. For the season, Ruhlman is 3-5 with a 4.24 earned run average in 76.1 innings of work.

BASEBALL - PLAYER
Abel Arocho, Shenandoah, Sr., Outfielder
Arocho, a senior from Glen Burnie, Md., hit safely in all five games for Shenandoah last week as he went 10-for-21 on the way to a .476/.542/.619 slash line. He drove in nine runs on the week, including four RBI in the all-important 8-7 comeback victory over Virginia Wesleyan. Without that win in game two, Shenandoah would not have secured the #1 seed in the ODAC Tournament. Arocho doubled twice in that game, driving in two runs with both knocks including the tying run in the eighth. He came around to score the go-ahead run on the way to the victory. He also drove in four runs in the first game of that series and chipped in another RBI in a 9-5 win over Washington and Lee earlier in the week. For the season, Arocho is .342 with a .429 OBP and .422 SLG. He is third in the league in walks (26), fourth in runs (44), and ninth in hits (55).

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Annie McCorry, Shenandoah, Jr., Attack
McCorry, a junior from Downingtown, Pa., put together an 11-point week in helping Shenandoah to a pair of conference wins to lockdown a spot in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. McCorry opened her week with three goals and three assists in a 19-2 victory over Randolph College. She added a ground ball and a draw control to her line. McCorry followed that effort with five more points on five goals in a 15-4 triumph over Guilford. She added five ground balls, five caused turnovers, and three draw controls in that contest. For the season, McCorry is seventh in the ODAC with 31 goals scored, helping her to a team-best 37 points. She is #1 in the league in free-position goals with 11.

MEN'S LACROSSE
Jack Hodgson, Washington and Lee, Fr., Face-off Specialist
Hodgson, a freshman from Richmond, Va., set the tone for the Generals in a pair of ODAC victories last week to help Washington and Lee secured the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. The Generals' face-off specialist combined to win 30-of-41 matchups from the circle for a 73.2-percent average. In a 24-7 victory over Randolph, Hodgson won 18-of-26 showdowns while picking up 10 ground balls. He also caused a turnover. It was more of the same in a 26-6 victory over Randolph-Macon as he failed to secure possession for his team just three times, winning 12-of-15 face-offs while adding eight more ground balls. For the season, Hodgson is #1 in the league in face-offs won at 212-of-321, which is good for a 66.0-percent mark. He also leads the ODAC ground balls (112).

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Jamiah Lewis, Bridgewater, Fr., #1 Singles, #2 Doubles
Lewis, a freshman from Dinwiddie, Va., won twice at #1 singles and two more times at #2 doubles as Bridgewater went 1-1 against conference opponents to solidify its spot in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Lewis and teammate Shannon Quinn earned an 8-6 win over Randolph-Macon's top duo before Lewis turned in a 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) victory in top-flight singles action two secure two points in a 6-3 setback to R-MC. Lewis was back at it in a 9-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan as she won 6-2, 6-1 in singles play and joined Quinn for an 8-1 triumph in doubles.

MEN'S TENNIS
Michael Moody, Hampden-Sydney, Fr., #2 Singles, #1 Doubles
Moody, a freshman from Raleigh, N.C., went 8-0 combined between #2 singles and #1 doubles action as Hampden-Sydney won four matches against ODAC foes heading into the conference tournament. Michael and his brother Matthew are rated 12th in the doubles rankings in the Atlantic South by the ITA, secured top-flight doubles wins over Virginia Wesleyan, Randolph-Macon, Roanoke, and Emory & Henry, helping the Tigers to 7-2, 5-4, 9-0, and 9-0 team wins, respectively. The duo won 8-5 over VWC before taking down their R-MC opponents, 8-2. They then defeated RC's top tandem, 8-4, and finished the week with an 8-2 win over E&H. In singles play, Michael dropped just one set on the way to four wins. He won 6-4, 6-1 over E&H before going to a third set to win 7-6 (6-4), 1-6, 7-5 over R-MC. He dropped just one game each in defeating RC's #2 player, 6-1, 6-1, and then finished with a second 6-1, 6-1 victory over E&H.
