FOREST, Va. --- It's the final report of the fall season for several sports with tournaments on-going on the winter campaign getting ready to jump into action full force. Those earning weekly honors include (pictured, l-r, t-b): Ali Bishop from Bridgewater field hockey, Luke Farley from Washington and Lee men's golf, Josh Breece from W&L football, Miranda Hall from Randolph-Macon volleyball, Max Garrett from W&L football, Reilly Bird from Roanoke women's swimming, Oscar Onoszko from Randolph men's swimming, Lauren Johnson from Shenandoah women's soccer, and Adam Watson from Randolph men's soccer.

ODAC Players of the Week

Thru Week Prior to: October 30, 2017

FOOTBALL - DEFENSIVE Max Garrett, Washington and Lee, Sr., Linebacker Garrett, a senior from Fairfield, Conn., led a defensive unit that pitched a second-half shutout in the Generals 17-14 come-from-behind victory at Randolph-Macon. Garrett was in on a season-best 14 tackles with three solo stops as Washington and Lee held R-MC to more than 26 points below its season average. Garrett's biggest play came at the most opportune moment when he intercepted a pass at midfield and returned it 11 yards to setup what would become the game-winning drive. The victory keeps Washington and Lee in the hunt for the ODAC title in a three-way tie with Hampden-Sydney and Shenandoah at 3-1. For the season, Garrett leads the ODAC with 77 total tackles and 46 solo stops. His 9.6 tackles per game average is second in the league. FOOTBALL - OFFENSIVE Josh Breece, Washington and Lee, Fr., Running Back Breece, a freshman from Lorton, Va., picks up his second weekly award of the season after helping Washington and Lee complete a 17-14 comeback win at Randolph-Macon. Breece cracked the 100-yard plateau for the sixth time this season as he ran for 199 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries. His first score came via a 56-yard scamper in the second quarter, but it was his second touchdown that proved the deciding moment in the game. Breece collected 28-of-39 yards on the Generals' final scoring drive after taking over on a R-MC turnover. Breece capped the series with a 1-yard TD with 38-seconds to play, giving W&L its first lead since Breece's first score with 9:55 on the second quarter clock. For the season, Breece leads the ODAC with 1,127 yards and 14 touchdowns rushing. Those numbers are fifth and sixth in W&L program history. Click to learn more about the past week in ODAC FOOTBALL

FIELD HOCKEY Ali Bishop, Bridgewater, So., Goalkeeper Bishop, a sophomore from Felton, Del., stepped up with 19 saves over two league contests last week to help the Eagles wrap up the fourth seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Bishop opened her week with eight saves in 70 minutes of action for a 2-1 victory at Virginia Wesleyan. She upped the ante in a second full game against Shenandoah, stopped 11 shots shot of the cage to lock up a 1-0 shutout. For the season, Bishop is fifth in the ODAC in saves (72), seventh in goals-against-average (2.08), and eighth in save percentage (.720). Click to learn more about the past week in ODAC FIELD HOCKEY

MEN'S GOLF Luke Farley, Washington and Lee, Sr. Farley, a senior from Durham, N.C., put together a consistent effort in leading Washington and Lee at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial. Farley tied for fourth overall after two rounds at the Sedgefield Dye Course in Greensboro, which was set to a par of 71 at 6,822 yards. He opened with a 2-over 73 before bettering his effort by one with a 1-over 72 to finish six strokes off the lead at 3-over par 145. Washington and Lee finished fifth of 19 teams at 21-over 589. The Generals second round score of 286 was the third-lowest team total after a pair of 283's by Carnegie Mellon and Greensboro. Click to learn more about the past week in ODAC GOLF

MEN'S SOCCER Adam Watson, Randolph, Jr., Midfielder Watson, a junior from Midlothian, Va., played a big part in Randolph not only making the ODAC Tournament, but advancing to the semifinal round. Watson dished out an assist on the tying goal as the WildCats scored two second-half tallies to defeat Guilford, 2-1, and wrap up the seventh seed in the tournament. Watson then snapped a personal seven-game goal-less streak with both goals in Randolph's 2-1 quarterfinal victory at #2 Roanoke. He converted a penalty kick in the 32nd minute before heading home the would-be winner in the 57th minute. For the season, Watson leads the ODAC with nine goals scored and is second with 21 points. MEN'S SWIMMING Oscar Onoszko, Randolph, Fr. Onoszko, a freshman from Clover, S.C., put together a strong showing in a quad meet at Greensboro. Onoszko won both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard freestyle swims, posting times of 0:56.68 and 1:55.93, respectively. Those rank seventh and ninth on the ODAC seasonal top-times charts. Onoszko also finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.25, which is just 0.28 seconds short of his previous season-best mark. Click to learn more about the past week in ODAC SWIMMING

WOMEN'S SWIMMING Reilly Bird, Roanoke, Fr. Bird, a freshman from Port Hope, Ontario, led Roanoke at a quad meet featuring host Frostburg State, Ferrum, and Mary Washington. Bird won two events, finished second in a third, swam a strong exhibition time in a fourth, and joined her teammates in one relay. Individual, Bird won the 50-meter and 100-meter backstrokes with times of 0:29.74 and 1:09.79. When adjusted to NCAA standard short-course yards, her 100-back time converts to 1:03.23, which slots in the top-10 in the ODAC. She added a second place finish in the 200-meter freestyle in 1:02.07, which converts to an ODAC fifth-best 0:56.24. Bird added a 0:38.46 showing in an exhibition swim in the 50-meter breaststroke, and then joined her teammates to finish third in the 200-meter medley relay in 2:09.09. WOMEN'S SOCCER Lauren Johnson, Shenandoah, Sr., Midfielder Johnson, a senior from Greenlawn, N.Y., scored two big goals for Shenandoah last week to help them qualify for the ODAC Tournament as the seventh seed. Johnson opened her week by scoring the would-be game-winning goal in the 77th minute of a 3-2 win over Randolph-Macon. She then came thru with the first goal in the final regular season game of the ODAC, helping the Hornets win 3-0 at Emory & Henry and lock up their tournament position. VOLLEYBALL Miranda Hall, Randolph-Macon, So., Outside Hitter Hall, a sophomore from Mechanicsville, Va., picks up her third weekly honor after racking up 48 kills, 19 digs and 49.0 total points in a 2-2 week for Randolph-Macon. Hall opened with 11 kills and four digs in the 3-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan, which put the finishing touches on an undefeated ODAC regular season. She then notched 11 kills with six digs in a 3-0 win over 24th-ranked Berry in the opening match of the Emory Invitational. Hall then busted loose for 20 kills, eight digs and a block in R-MC's 3-2 setback to eighth-ranked Emory. She finished her week with six kills and a block in a 3-0 loss to regionally sixth-ranked Birmingham Southern. For the season, Hall leads the ODAC in kills per set (3.27), is second in points per set (3.4), fifth in total kills (275), ninth in total points (289.5) and 10th in total attacks (722) and attack percentage (.237).
