FOREST, Va. --- The 2017 portion of the 2017-18 athletic calendar is winding down with holiday breaks and finals weeks. Those earning weekly honors include (pictured, l-r, t-b): A.J. Horde from Bridgewater men's basketball, Marissa Coombs and Curtis Dudley from Virginia Wesleyan indoor track, and Lauren Ramsey from Guilford women's basketball.
Below are entries for all four winners from the past week of competition. Click on the associated links to see that sport's weekly honor roll.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK
Curtis Dudley, Virginia Wesleyan, So.
Dudley, a sophomore from Norfolk, Va., put together a strong showing to open his season at the CNU Holiday Open. Dudley ran in a pair of events, including the 60-meter dash where he slotted himself inside the nation's top-10. He ran 7.09 in the prelims and then an ODAC second-best 6.99 in the semifinals, which is tied for eighth in NCAA Division III. He went on to finish fourth overall at 7.14 in the finals. Dudley also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 24.57.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK
Marissa Coombs, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr.
Coombs, a senior from Newtown, N.J., opened her season with a stellar showing at the CNU Holiday Open. The multiple All-American posted a time of 10:06.00 in the 3,000-meter run, finishing fourth overall as the top Division III competitor by more than 55 seconds. The three runners who placed above her and two below were all from Division I Richmond. When converted for national rankings*, Coombs ranking time of 10:00.85 sits fourth in the country.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
A.J. Horde, Bridgewater, Sr., Guard
Horde, a senior from Oak Park, Mich., put together a strong week in leading Bridgewater to wins in both contests at the Don Glick Classic. Horde opened with 26 points and six rebounds with three assists and four steals in an 88-72 win over Keystone. He was 8-of-16 from the field and canned five three-pointers in 10 attempts from beyond the arc. In an 82-73 triumph over Apprentice School, Horde registered 18 points with two boards and five assists. He buried two more from deep, keeping him at 50-percent from downtown for the week. He also converted 8-of-11 from the stripe. For the season, Horde is second in the ODAC in scoring (18.8) and three-pointers made (24). He leads the league in minutes played (33.0), is third in steals (15) and fourth in free throws made (34).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Lauren Ramsey, Guilford, Sr., Guard
Ramsey, a senior from Lexington, N.C., put together a pair of strong efforts to help the Quakers run their ODAC-best winning streak to six games with two more victories last week. Ramsey opened with a game-high 22 points in a 77-75 overtime victory over Oglethorpe. Ramsey made the layup to put the Quakers up for good with 44-seconds to play in the extra period. She added six rebounds and three assists to her stat line. Ramsey then helped the Quakers move to 2-0 in ODAC play by tying for game-high honors with teammate Miracle Walters with 18 points in a 62-49 win at Virginia Wesleyan. She shook off a 4-of-13 shooting day from the field by canning 9-of-10 from the stripe and pulling down 11 rebounds for her second career double-double. She added a game-best six assists and three steals. For the season, Ramsey is sixth in the ODAC in scoring (16.0) and seventh in points scored (112). She is third in minutes played (35.1) and total assists (32) and seventh in steals (15) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5).
