ODAC Players of the Week - Week 16

FOREST, Va. --- Finals week and preparation for holiday breaks left ODAC fans with just a handful of men's and women's basketball games to enjoy. The games that were played saw ODAC teams win 14-of-18 non-conference games between the two sports. This week's ODAC Players of the Week are Sammy Thomas from Eastern Mennonite men's basketball and Briana Moore from Bridgewater women's basketball.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sammy Thomas | Eastern Mennonite | Sr. | Center
Thomas, a senior from Owings, Md., put together a pair of strong games to lead Eastern Mennonite to two wins at the Don Glick Classic hosted by Bridgewater College. Thomas shot 17-of-23 (.739) for the week on the way to averaging 20.5 points and 6.0 boards. He opened with 17 points and four rebounds in an 84-75 triumph over Apprentice School. He was 7-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from the stripe. He added two steals to his line. Thomas followed with a career-high 24 points to go with eight rebounds. He was 10-of-13 form the field in dominating the paint. For the season, Thomas is ninth in the ODAC in scoring (19.2) while leading the league in field goal shooting (54-of-79; .684).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Briana Moore | Bridgewater | Sr. | Guard
Moore, a senior from Waynesboro, Va., registered two strong outings to help Bridgewater close out its 2018 portion of the second with two straight wins and four victories in its last five outings. Moore averaged 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds over the two outings. She opened with 15 points and nine rebounds to just miss her first double-double in an 85-66 triumph over Apprentice School. She made all four of her foul shots and pulled down six of her rebounds via the offensive glass. Moore didn't wait long to get that first double-double as she notched 24 points with 10 boards in an 83-66 win at Mary Baldwin. She was 10-of-19 from the field with a trio of makes from downtown. She ripped away five more offensive rebounds and added three assists to her line. For the season, Moore is fourth in the ODAC in scoring (17.6) and third in overall points scored (194). She is second in three-pointers made (24-of-54), third in field goals made (71-of-143), fifth in three-point shooting (.463), sixth in offensive rebounds (27), and ninth in free throws made (27-of-37).
