ODAC Players of the Week - Week 18

FOREST, Va. --- Competition is always a bit sporadic during the holiday season with student-athletes taking the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. ODAC teams have still been busy over the past two weeks with 23 of the 26 total men's and women's basketball squads competing in 46 overall games since December 17. Those earning ODAC "weekly" honors covering the past 14 days of competition are Roy McMillan from Washington and Lee men's basketball and Taylor Blevins from Emory & Henry women's basketball.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Roy McMillan | Washington and Lee | Sr. | Forward
McMillan, a senior from Raleigh, N.C., put together a strong two-week stretch in earning recognition on a pair of all-tournament teams in the Generals 2-1 showing. McMillan was named the MVP of the second annual Maura Panaggio Tournament hosted at the DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla. In the second* of Washington and Lee's two wins in Florida, McMillan registered 25 points and 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season in a 75-66 win over Brockport St. He was 10-of-21 from the field and pulled down seven of his boards via the offensive glass. He added two assists and a pair of blocked shots to his line. The following weekend, McMillan exploded for 31 points and 15 rebounds for his sixth double-double and added four blocked shots in a 93-85 setback to Centre to open the W&L Tournament. He was 9-of-14 from the field and 10-of-13 from the foul line. He canned a trio of three-pointers for the second straight game. McMillan capped his week and secured a spot on the all-tournament team with 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in a 95-66 triumph over Cabrini. For the season, McMillan is second in the ODAC in scoring (19.2) and third in overall points (230). He is also fourth in rebounding (9.6) and total rebounds (115). He ranks third in field goals made (82-of-180) and seventh in blocked shots (14).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Blevins | Emory & Henry | Sr. | Forward
Blevins, a senior from Abingdon, Va., put together a pair of solid performances in earning Lynchburg Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team honors from a pair of Wasps victories. Blevins opened with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go with seven boards, an assist, and a steal in a 70-54 victory over Meredith. She turned up her efficiency slightly in a big 76-56 triumph over 16th-ranked Christopher Newport as she was 6-of-8 from the field on the way to 12 points. She pulled down seven more boards to go with an assist, steal, and blocked shot. For the season, Blevins is averaging 12.2 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per contest. She is third in the league in field goal shooting (.564) and 10th in field goals made (53-of-94). The Wasps currently sit just outside the D3hoops.com Top-25.
