ODAC Announces 2018-19 All-Academic Team

Conference Honors 2,120 Student-Athletes

FOREST, Va. --- ODAC students-athletes took just a year hiatus from setting league academic records as a new ODAC record 2,120 individuals earned recognition on the 2018-19 ODAC All-Academic Team. Conference student-athletes surpassed the previous high of 2001 in 2016-17 on the way to eclipsing 1,000 honorees for the 13th straight year and the second time in three seasons clearing the 2,000-person mark.

Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. Prospective honorees must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the year to be considered for an ODAC All-Academic Award.

For the second time in as many seasons, 11 member institutions placed more than 100 individuals on the ODAC All-Academic Team. Washington and Lee University topped the table with 373 honorees, while Shenandoah University and Randolph-Macon College each eclipsed 200 student-athletes at 231 and 211, respectively. The seven additional schools over the 100-mark are the University of Lynchburg (188), Bridgewater College (158), Roanoke College (144), Virginia Wesleyan University (131), Emory & Henry College (118), Ferrum College (113), Guilford College (109), and Eastern Mennonite University (106).
