FOREST, Va. --- The first report of the 2019 season is ready with six ODAC Athletes of the Week. Those earning weekly honors include (headshots; top-bottom, left-right) Megan Stevens from Shenandoah field hockey, Brynne Gould from Washington and Lee volleyball, Skyler Lattuca from Virginia Wesleyan men's cross country, Jacqueline Clardy-Josephs from Randolph women's cross country, Emily Yergin from SU women's soccer, and Ricky Aguilar from Guilford men's soccer.

FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Megan Stevens | Shenandoah | Sr. | Defense
Stevens, a senior from Blairstown, N.J., helped lead Shenandoah to a pair of victories to start the season, including the Hornets first win over a ranked opponent in program history. Stevens started her week with a goal and a defensive save in SU's 4-1 victory at Gettysburg College. She then beat the keeper twice, including the game's opening tally, in a 5-0 shutout over nationally 17th-ranked Washington & Jefferson. The shutout is the Hornets second in four games dating back to last season's 1-0 overtime victory over Washington and Lee in the ODAC semifinals.

MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ricky Aguilar | Guilford | Sr. | Midfielder
Aguilar, from Sanford, N.C., had a boot in on five the Quakers first six goals scored of the season as the senior playmaker helped Guilford to a 1-1 start. In the season-opener, Aguilar dished out a pair of assists on Guilford's first and third goals of the game in the Quakers 3-1 victory at Averett University. Aguilar then racked up four points in a 4-3 setback to Pfeiffer University as he scored GC's first goal and provided the assists on the Quakers' remaining two tallies. Aguilar has registered at least one point in three of his last four games played dating back to last season.

WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Emily Yergin | Shenandoah | Sr. | Forward
Yergin, a senior from Warrenton, Va., didn't take long to move the needle in the Shenandoah record books as her seven-point week helped her move up SU's goals scored list in addition to pushing the Hornets to a pair of non-conference victories to start the season. Yergin opened with one goal in a 5-1 triumph at N.C. Wesleyan. She then racked up five points in a 6-1 victory at Meredith College, scoring twice and dishing out an assist. Yergin is now tied atop the Shenandoah career goals scored list with 51 tallies.

VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brynne Gould | Washington and Lee | Jr. | Outside Hitter
Gould, a junior from Boone, N.C., helped the Generals opened the season with four wins at the Bicentennial Invitational hosted by Maryville College (Tenn.) over the week. Gould hammered out 60 total kills to go along with 46 digs and six blocks from her outside position. She registered four double-doubles (kills and digs) beginning with 17 kills at a .245 clip to go with 13 digs and three blocks in a 3-2 victory over Hanover College. Gould notched just one fewer winner in a 3-1 triumph over Huntingdon College as she went for 16 kills and 11 digs to close day one. She opened day two with 10 digs and 13 kills powered by a .407 attack percentage in a 3-0 win over Centre College. Gould capped her performance with 14 kills at a .250 rate with 12 digs and two blocks in a 3-1 win over the host Scots. She accounted for 65.0 total points over the four matches.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Skyler Lattuca | Virginia Wesleyan | So.
Lattuca, a sophomore from Middle Island, N.Y., opened the new season on the right foot as he won the three-mile race at the Eagles Cross Country Challenge hosted by Bridgewater College. Lattuca out-paced the second place finisher by 27-seconds on the way to posting a winning time of 15:39.0. Lattuca is building off a first-year campaign that saw him rack up ODAC Rookie of the Meet (at the conference championship) and ODAC Co-Rookie of the Year laurels in 2018.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Jacqueline Clardy-Josephs | Randolph | Fy.
Clardy-Josephs, a first-year from New Kent, Va., put together a memorable performance in her first collegiate race at the Quakers Cross Country Opener hosted by Guilford College. Clardy-Josephs won the five-kilometer event with a time of 20:19.9, out-pacing second place by 25-seconds. He time set a new Randolph record, which was set five seasons ago by Rain McKemie.
