FOREST, Va. --- One championship is in the books, another tournament has started, and three other fall regular seasons have concluded and await their postseason events as we release the last weekly report of the fall season. Those earning weekly honors in field hockey, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming, and women's volleyball include (headshots; from top and left-right) Katie Brookman from Randolph-Macon field hockey, Amber Matalus from Virginia Wesleyan women's volleyball, Michael Lyons from Lynchburg men's soccer, Gabby Nelson from R-MC women's soccer, and Kimberly Large and Connor Kinkema from Roanoke swimming.

FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katie Brookman | Randolph-Macon | So. | Midfielder
Brookman, a sophomore from Culpeper, Va., put together a 12-point week to help Randolph-Macon close the season with a pair of league victories to secure hosting privileges in one of the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals. Brookman scored twice in a 3-2 victory at Virginia Wesleyan. He rocket shot off a penalty corner with under a minute to play served as the game-winner. She then was on the mark four times an 8-0 victory that clinched the fourth seed for the Yellow Jackets. She scored the game's opening goal and added three straight in the second half. For the season, Brookman has collected 23 points on 10 goals and three assists. She is eighth in the ODAC in goals and ninth in points.

MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Michael Lyons | Lynchburg | Sr. | Midfielder
Lyons, a senior from Wall, N.J., put together a strong week with a pair of goals and an assist in Lynchburg's two victories. Lyons, who earned All-ODAC First Team status as a midfielder for Ferrum College last season, picked a great time for his first goal of the season in the regular season finale against Guilford. He finshed a pass from Luke Mega in the 93rd minute for a 1-0 overtime victory over the Quakers, which locked up the ODAC Tournament's fourth seed. Lyons turned up his production a notch in the quarterfinal against Randolph-Macon as he assisted Abibi Osman on the Hornets' first goal in the 13th minute and then again finished off a feed from Mega in the 83rd minute for a 2-0 triumph.

MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Connor Kinkema | Roanoke | So.
Kinkema, a sophomore from Collinsville, Va., sped his way to a trio of individual wins and a helped Roanoke to a relay victory as the Maroons toppled Mary Washington, 162-100, in a dual meet. Kinkema, who set ODAC season top times in each event, won both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events in 0:58.31 and 2:06.36, respectively. He is the ODAC record-holder in both events. He also won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:16.72. Kinkema then swam the second leg on the Maroons' 400-yard medley relay team that posted a winning time of 3:32.59.

WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Kimberly Large | Roanoke | Fy.
Large, a first-year from Abingdon, Va., set a trio of ODAC top times in helping Roanoke defeat Mary Washington, 184-78, in a dual meet last week. Large won the 50-yard freestyle in 0:24.41 as well as the 100-yard freestyle in 0:53.12. She added a victory in the 100-yard butterfly in 0:57.73. Large then swam the anchor leg on the winning 400-yard medley relay team in 4:00.20. That time is also currently #1 in the conference.

WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabby Nelson | Randolph-Macon | Sr. | Forward
Nelson, a senior from Clover, Va., picks up her second weekly award of the season after leading the nationally 15th-ranked and undefeated Yellow Jackets to a pair of league wins to lock up the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Nelson opened her week with the first goal in a 5-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite. Then came her third game of three or more goals as she registered all three of Randolph-Macon's goals in its regular season-capping 3-0 victory at Ferrum. For the season, Nelson leads the ODAC in points (56) and goals scored (25) and is tied for fourth in assists (6). She is currently ranked third in NCAA Division III in points and goals scored and second in game-winning goals.

VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Amber Matalus | Virginia Wesleyan | Sr. | Middle Hitter
Matalus, a senior from Colorado Springs, Colo., helped lead Virginia Wesleyan to four non-conference victories last week in prelude to the Marlins entering the ODAC Tournament as the #2 seed. Matalus, a middle hitter, registered 47 kills at 3.13 per set over the four matches, adding in 12 total blocks and attacking at a .379 clip. She opened with 11 kills and a .450 attack percentage to go with two assists and a block in a 3-0 victory over N.C. Wesleyan. She then had eight kills against just one error with four blocks in a 3-0 triumph over Averett. Play continued at Christopher Newport University as Matalus helped lead VWU to a 3-1 win over Salisbury and a 3-2 victory over the host Captains. She had 10 kills with four aces, five digs, and two blocks against the Sea Gulls, and then smacked 18 winners at a .500 clip with six digs and five blocks against CNU. For the season, Matalus is fourth in the ODAC in attack percentage (.328) and total points (394.0), fifth in kills (310), seventh in total blocks (84) and points per set (3.6), and eighth in kills per set (2.82).
