ODAC Athletes of the Week | Basketball, Swimming

FOREST, Va. --- The holiday season is fast approaching, but don't tell ODAC athletes a lull in play is looming as they continue to post several impressive outings. Those earning weekly honors in men's and women's basketball and men's and women's swimming include (headshots; from top and left-right) Buzz Anthony from Randolph-Macon men's basketball, Sydney McKinney from Emory & Henry women's basketball, and Emily Hageboeck and Patrick Sullivan from Washington and Lee swimming.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Buzz Anthony | Randolph-Macon | Jr. | Guard
Anthony, a junior from Arnold, Md., put together a pair of solid games as to lead 24th-ranked Randolph-Macon to road wins over two conference foes. In the Yellow Jackets ODAC opener at Washington and Lee, Anthony dropped in 23 points on 7-of-13 from the field including 3-for-4 from deep in a 79-68 victory. He was 6-of-7 from the stripe and added nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Anthony turned up his scoring a bit in an 82-64 win at Hampden-Sydney in a non-conference clash of the two ODAC rivals. Anthony poured in a season-best 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting with a 6-of-9 showing from three-point range and 3-of-3 from the line. He added seven rebounds and five assists to his line. For the season, Anthony is averaging 14.2 points per game. He is second in the ODAC in assists (31), sixth in free throw shooting (.895), sevneth in three-pointers made (12-of-23), eighth in field goals made (28-of-63) and three-point shooting (.522), and ninth in free throws made (17-of-19).

MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Patrick Sullivan | Washington and Lee | Jr.
Sullivan, a junior from Pawleys, S.C., helped the Generals to a fourth-place finish out of 10 teams at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational, compiling a third and two fifth place finishes individually, while helping relays to one win, a runner-up performance, and two fourth-place finishes. Sullivan was third in the 100-yard freestyle in 0:46.04 and added fifth-place efforts in the 50-yard freestyle (0:21.18) and 200-yard freestyle (1:41.55). In the relays, Sullivan helped the 400-yard medley relay (3:24.51) to a win, the 200-yard medley relay (1:32.98) to a second-place finish, and the 200-yard (1:25.42) and 400-yard freestyle relays (3:09.03) to fourth-place showings. The time of 1:32.98 posted by the 200-medley relay is currently the ninth-fastest time in Division III this season. His 200-free time is now tops in the ODAC, while his 50-free and 100-free times are second only to his previous season-best marks.

WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Emily Hageboeck | Washington and Lee | Sr.
Hageboeck, a senior from Charleston, W.Va., propelled No. 14 W&L to a first-place finish out of 11 teams at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational over the weekend with three individual wins -- including two NCAA "B" cut qualification times - and two relay wins. Hageboecks individual wins came in the 400-yard IM (4:29.51), 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.74), and 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.55), while she helped the 200-yard (1:45.20) and 400-yard medley relays (3:51.13) to wins as well. Hageboeck's times in the 200-breaststroke, 400-IM, and 100-breaststroke are currently the second-, fifth- and sixth-fastest times, respectively, in Division III this season, while the 400 medley relay and 200 medley relay are the fourth- and fifth-fastest in the nation. All three individual times are top marks in the ODAC.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sydney McKinney | Emory & Henry | Sr. | Forward
McKinney, a senior from Big Stone Gap, Va., put together a pair of strong outings to lead Emory & Henry to a pair of victories last week. McKinney opened with 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting including a pair of made three-pointers in a 77-70 triumph at Piedmont. She added 14 boards for the first of two double-doubles on the week. Seven of her rebounds came via the offensive glass. She was 5-for-5 from the stripe and chipped in two steals and two blocked shots. In 78-68 victory over Greensboro, McKinney went for 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting and 4-of-6 from the line. She added 13 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and three blocked shots to her line. For the season, McKinney leads the ODAC in scoring (18.0), overall points (108), field goals made (41-of-88), free throws made (21-of-30), and offensive rebounds (19). She is second in rebounding (10.3) and total boards (62).
