ODAC Athletes of the Week | Basketball

FOREST, Va. --- This marks the final ODAC weekly report of the 2019 calendar year with the league taking a break from reporting next week and resuming on the first Monday in January. Those earning weekly honors in women's and men's basketball are Whitney Hopson from Roanoke and Kevin Dennin from Washington and Lee.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kevin Dennin | Washington and Lee | Sr. | Guard
Dennin, a senior from Severna Park, Md., helped lead the Generals to a pair of victories last week at the Leslie Robinson Invitational hosted by Trinity University (Texas). Dennin opened with 13 points powered by a trio of three-pointers in an 83-78 win over Schreiner. He chipped in five rebounds along with three assists. Dennin then tied a Washington and Lee program record with seven made three-pointers as part of a 10-of-16 shooting performance on the way to a career-best 27 points in an 88-71 triumph over Trinity. He added four rebounds and a personal-best four steals. For the season, Dennin is averaging 10.2 points per game. He is fifth in the ODAC in three-pointers made (21-of-67) and fourth in steals (16).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Whitney Hopson | Roanoke | So. | Guard
Hopson, a sophomore from Mechanicsville, Va., helped Roanoke collect a pair of victories at the Puerto Rico Basketball Classic during the midweek. Hopson opened with 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field in a 78-68 win over Elizabethtown College. She added three rebounds, five assists, and a steal. Hopson then helped spur a balanced effort in a 56-25 win over Illinois Tech. She was 4-of-5 from the field on the way to eight points to go with three rebounds, five assists, and three steals. For the season, Hopson is averaging 8.1 points per game. She is second in the ODAC in steals (25) and ninth in assists (29).
