FOREST, Va. --- The winter campaign is back in full-go mode with indoor track & field and swimming joining basketball over the past week. The four awards for indoor track and indoor field athletes will be announced on Tuesday, with this report focusing on basketball and swimming. Those earning weekly awards in basketball and swimming include (headshots, left-to-right, top-to-bottom): Whitney Hopson from Roanoke women's basketball, DJ Hill from Eastern Mennonite men's basketball, and Emily Hageboeck and Patrick Sullivan from Washington and Lee swimming.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DJ Hill | Eastern Mennonite | Jr. | Forward
Hill, a junior from Woodbridge, Va., put together arguably the most productive week of his collegiate career as Eastern Mennonite went 1-1 against ODAC competition. Hill exploded for a career-best 31 points to go with nine rebounds in an 80-79 win at Shenandoah. In fact, it was his jumper with 6-seconds to play that provided the winning margin in the Royals first ODAC victory of the season. He was 13-of-15 from the field (86.7%) and made each of five foul shots. He added two assists, a blocked shot, and a steal to his line. On the weekend in a 62-56 setback to Randolph, Hill registered 13 points and paired that with a second nine-rebound effort. He chipped in two assists and two blocked shots. For the season, Hill is averaging 12.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, the latter ranking seventh in the ODAC. He is second in the league in minutes played (32.7) and fourth in field goal shooting (55.9% | 57-of-102).

MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Patrick Sullivan | Washington and Lee | Jr.
Sullivan, a junior from Pawleys Island, S.C., guided the Generals to a pair of dual wins over the last two Saturdays. That includes a 159-70 triumph over St. Mary's (Md.) on January 4 and a 180-82 victory over VMI on January 11. He posted five individual wins and two relay first place finishes. Sullivan won the 100-yard butterfly on both weekends, topping out at 0:52.30 against St. Mary's and 0:52.47 against VMI. He also won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:24.69 against the Seahawks. Against the Keydets, Sullivan added wins in the 100-yard (45.82) and 200-yard freestyles in 0:45.82 and 1:43.48, as his 100-free set a new pool record. Sullivan was also part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay (1:25.26) against SMC and the 200-yard medley relay (1:35.39) against VMI.

WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Emily Hageboeck | Washington and Lee | Sr.
Hageboeck, a senior from Charleston, W.Va., had no problem with an extended break with the flip of the calendar as the Generals' All-American posted four event wins and helped Washington and Lee to a relay victory over a pair of dual meet victories. Hageboeck posted ODAC top-three times in each swim, beginning with victories in the 200-yard breaststroke and 400-yard individual medley in W&L's 174-62 triumph over St. Mary's (Md.). She finished with times of 2:23.37 and 4:43.61, respectively. Then in a 158-40 win over VMI, Hageboeck again won the 200-breaststroke in 2:29.07 and added a win in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.51. She helped her teammates win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:49.14

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Whitney Hopson | Roanoke | So. | Guard
Hopson, a sophomore from Mechanicsville, Va., picks up her second weekly award of the season after leading Roanoke to a big ODAC victory in its lone game of the week. Hopson registered 17 points and was responsible for at least 24 more tallies with 12 assists for her first collegiate double-double in the Maroons 83-59 victory over Emory & Henry. The Wasps had won their previous 10 games and had not yet lost in ODAC play. Hopson, who added three rebounds and a steal to her line, was 5-of-11 from the field and canned all five of her foul shots. She committed just one turnover as Roanoke's primary ball-handler. For the season. Hopson is second in the ODAC in steals (34) and fifth in assists (53). She is averaging 10.1 points per game in 26.4 minutes per contest.
