FOREST, Va. --- Bridgewater College field hockey senior Claire Ashley has been selected as the 2022 ODAC National SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Ambassador.
As the ODAC National SAAC Ambassador, Ashley will represent the ODAC at the NCAA National SAAC Meeting and the NCAA Convention. She also will work closely with the conference office to represent every ODAC student-athlete at the national level.
"I am super excited and grateful to be given this opportunity to help represent the ODAC and be able to help everyone's voice be heard," said Ashley.
Ashley, a Culpeper, Va. native, is the current Bridgewater SAAC president and recently earned All-ODAC third team honors on the field for her performances this season. She is Bridgewater's first ODAC National SAAC Ambassador and was selected through the conference's application process.
"We are excited for Claire to have this opportunity and that she is the first Bridgewater student-athlete to represent the conference at the national level. She will be a great leader and representative in this role. Her enthusiasm and desire to learn and lead is unmatched," said Director of Athletics Curt Kendall.
Ashley's appointment will begin following the 2022 NCAA Convention.
