Shenandoah's Dr. Wigley Elected to NCAA Division III Management Council

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Professor Brian Wigley has been elected to the NCAA Division III Management Council in selections announced Tuesday by the NCAA President's Council.

Dr. Wigley, a Sport Management full professor within the SU School of Business, starts his four-year term on Management Council following the completion of the 2022 NCAA Convention.

The 21-person council is made up of athletics direct reports, athletic directors, senior woman's administrators, faculty athletic representatives, conference commissioners, and student-athletes.

Within the NCAA governance structure, the Management Council reports directly to the Presidents Council and handles the implementation of policies adopted by the Association's Board of Governors and Division III Presidents Council.  The Management Council may sponsor legislative proposals; make interpretations of Division III's bylaws; and may also handle resolution of Division III issues and recommendations from other committees and working groups throughout the Division's substructure.

Wigley has been the Shenandoah University athletic department's Faculty Athletic Representative since 2010 and has also served two terms as interim athletic director.

"After serving on other NCAA committees, I'm proud and thrilled to be selected for Management Council," Wigley said. "I look forward to serving all of the student-athletes, coaches, and staff across Division III."

Wigley previously served on the NCAA Division III Strategic Planning and Finance Committee.
