Basketball loses on the road at Randolph

Lynchburg, VA-The Salem College basketball team almost pulled off a 14 point fourth quarter rally at Randolph, before the Wildcats were able to prevail with a 56-51 win. MiKayla Seivers led the Spirits with 16 points and 3 assists. Salem falls to 2-6, while Randolph improves to 4-3.

Randolph jumped out to a 19-12 lead at the break. Salem picked up their defensive pressure in the second quarter and held the Wildcats to just 5 points while closing the lead to 24-22 at the break. Randolph was able to extend the lead to 44-30 after 3 quarters. Salem mounted a furious comeback in the 4th to close the gap to 1 point, but Randolph was able to hit free-throws to seal the victory. 

Sabrina Shepherd added 12 points, while Alexiahonna Bush had 8 points and led the team with 10 rebounds. Hannah McBride led the team with 2 steals, and Bush had an impressive 6 blocks for the Spirits.

Salem will take a 3 week break before they host Greensboro on December 29th.
