DEMOREST, Georgia - The Piedmont College baseball team snapped a four-game losing streak this afternoon at Loudermilk Stadium by defeating visiting non-conference foe Washington and Lee University by the score of 8-5. After allowing four runs in the top of the first inning the Lions answered with eight runs on 10 hits to take the three-run decision.

Washington and Lee would respond in the fifth tying the score at 5-5 and also marking the first earned run allowed by the Lions bullpen in 26.1 innings of relief on the season. The Lions would quickly counter with a pair of runs in the home-half as
AUSTIN BRICK notched an RBI-single and
TATE KOONS added an RBI on a fielders choice.
Piedmont would add an insurance run in the seventh and take the final decision 8-5.
ALLEN TOKARZ earned his first collegiate win going four and a third innings of relief allowing only one run while striking out a pair.
JOSH THOMAS went two innings facing the minimum and Jake Brewster threw a perfect ninth with a strikeout for the save.
Brick and Barnes led the offense going 2-3 with a pair of runs scored respectively while D'Antignac added a 2-4 day with an RBI and two runs scored.
LOGAN PETHEL and
DALE BARTEK also chipped-in going 1-3 apiece.
The victory moves the Lions to 4-5 overall. The squad will return to Loudermilk Field on Friday, February 22 as they play host to visiting USA South Conference opponent Maryville College starting at 7:00.
