Basketball falls at Guilford in first game

Greensboro, NC-The Salem College basketball team could not hang with Guilford in their first game of the 2014-15 season. Guilford started out fast and won 89-47. Sabrina Shepherd and Zykeya Henderson each had 8 points for Salem to lead the way. The Spirits fall to 0-1, while Guilford improves to 2-1.

Shepherd led the Spirits with 6 rebounds, and Hannah McBride and Alexihonna Bush each had 5. Kenna Amos had 2 assists. Henderson led the team with 4 steals.

The Quakers led 45-23 at the end of the first-half. For the game, Guilford held a 53-34 lead on the boards. They also forced Salem to turn the ball over 26, while the Spirits forced 13 turnovers. 

Salem has off until after the Thanksgiving Break. The Spirits will host Maryville on December 3rd at 5:30.
