Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, NC. - Guilford came out strong Wednesday afternoon and took away a 3-0 victory over the Methodist men's soccer team.
Guilford (6-3-1) scored in the 11th minute when Freddy Gomez recovered a rebound in the Methodist box. The Quakers' second goal was a shot to the upper right post from the top of the 18 by Tom Crowley in the 37th minute. Methodist (2-6) had seven shots in the first half, but were unable to capitalize.
Twenty-three minutes into the second half, Guilford's Ronnie Castellanos scored from the right side. Methodist had more opportunities during the second half, but Guilford keeper Johnathan Shine held on for the shutout.

Ryan Gill combined in goal with two saves, while Shine finished with seven stops for Guilford.
The Monarchs will travel to Randolph on Tuesday, Sept. 29 for a game at 4 pm.
