Emory & Henry Football Rolls Over Guilford, 27-3, On Senior Day

EMORY, Va. - Emory & Henry's Caleb Jennings will leave quite the legacy in the Emory & Henry football program.

On a 27-3 Senior Day Wasps' win over Guilford College, Jennings eclipsed the 6,000 all-purpose yard mark, becoming the first ever E&H football player to do so. He finishes his career with 6,142 all-purpose yards. The senior broke Bob Miller's ('51) 59-year old record two weeks prior in Emory & Henry's loss at Bridgewater.

Sophomore Matt Turchin also etched his name into the record books today for the Wasps, kicking his ninth and tenth field goals of the year in the victory.

Jennings found the end zone twice for Emory & Henry, amassing 184 rushing yards on the day and 1,099 this year. He ends his career third on the E&H all-time rushing list with 3,705 yards.

Anthony Sims scored the Wasps' other touchdown, catching a 16-yard pass from Dustin Beck.

Freshman defensive end Paden Gaines picked off a deflected Quaker pass and returned it 33 yards to set up Jennings' final touchdown burst.

Stephen Callahan, Travis Bolt and Daniel Preston all recorded sacks for the Wasps' defense, which allowed Guilford just nine yards rushing on 24 attempts.

Emory & Henry finishes the 2010 campaign at 1-5 in the ODAC and 5-5 overall. Saturday's win broke a 5-game losing streak.
