ODAC Men's and Women's Tennis Semifinals Set

Sweet Briar College Set to Host the Weekend’s Championship Play

FOREST, Va. –-- The match-ups are set for the ODAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis semifinals and finals. Both will begin play at Sweet Briar College on Saturday, April 26.

The women’s semifinals will start the day with number-one seed Washington and Lee (15-2) set to face #4 seed Bridgewater College (12-4). The Generals advanced to the semifinals by way of a 5-0 victory over Guilford College. BC recorded a 5-2 decision over Randolph to punch its ticket to the next round. On the other side of the bracket, #2 Roanoke College (15-2) will face #3 Randolph-Macon (15-5). Roanoke advanced following a 7-2 victory over Emory and Henry College, while R-MC defeated Shenandoah 5-0. Play begins at 8:30am Saturday with the first semifinal between W&L and BC, followed by the Roanoke-RMC match-up at 11am. 

The men’s semifinals reserve the afternoon at Sweet Briar. The first semifinal will pit #1 Washington and Lee (15-4) against #4 Bridgewater (12-9). Washington and Lee advanced to the semifinals with a 6-0 decision over Randolph on Sunday. Bridgewater narrowly escaped Hampden-Sydney with a 5-4 decision on Saturday afternoon. The second semifinal includes the #2 seeded Virginia Wesleyan Marlins (14-4) who advanced with a 5-1 victory over Roanoke. Their opponent is Guilford College (7-10). The sixth seeded Quakers pulled an upset on Saturday recording a 5-4 victory over #3 Randolph-Macon.  Men’s semifinal play begins Saturday afternoon with the W&L/BC match up at 2pm followed by the GC/VWC semifinal at 4:30.

Championship play is scheduled for Sunday with the women’s championship at 10am and the men’s final slated for 1pm.
