Record Ninth All-Cups Win for Generals
FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee
University used a strong spring for the second straight year to
move atop the standings and sweep all three ODAC Commissioners'
Cups for a record ninth time. The Generals edged Lynchburg
College for the men's trophy in addition to the overall cup, while
W&L used a narrow 0.005 margin in total percentage to capture
the women's award over Randolph-Macon College.

Cups. Farm Bureau and the ODAC continue their partnership in
focusing on the strength of the conference's student-athletes and
maintaining the NCAA Division III philosophy of the complete
student-athlete experience. Aside from supporting the ODAC
Commissioners' Cups, Farm Bureau is the sponsor of the ODAC's
sport-by-sport scholar-athlete awards.
As determined by the ODAC Board of Directors, points for the
Commissioner's Cups are based on regular-season standings in team
sports and championship team finishes in individual sports.
Each institution has a total number of possible points it can
collect based on its individual sport sponsorship. The total
number of points earned is then divided by the total number of
possible points to determine the rating for each institution.
Washington and Lee collected 166.5 of a possible 220.0 points for
a 0.757 rating to win its 18th total and 12th straight overall
champions cup. Randolph-Macon took second with a mark of
0.738, while Lynchburg came in third at 0.711. Bridgewater
College slid from second in 2012-13 to fourth with a 0.639 rating,
and Virginia Wesleyan College moved up to fifth at 0.611.
Strong showings in tennis, golf and both indoor and outdoor track
helped the Generals to the men's cup crown with a 0.728 rating.
Washington and Lee has now won the men's cup 15 times,
including each of the past two seasons. LC came in second at
0.695, while R-MC chimes in just 0.006-points short of the Hornets
in third at 0.689.
The 0.005-point difference betwee W&L and R-MC in the women's
cup standings is representative of the outstanding seasons both
schools experience in 2013-14. The Yellow Jackets' title in
golf was off-set by lacrosse and tennis top rankings from the
Generals, helping W&L to the 0.782-to-0.777 edge in the final
table. Washington and Lee was won 11 consecutive women's cups
and 14 overall. Lynchburg placed third at 0.724.
