ODAC Announces 2014-15 All-Academic Team

Conference Honors 1,801 Student-Athletes

FOREST, Va. --- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Academic Team eclipsed 1,000 student-athletes for the ninth consecutive year and set a new record for number of honorees, marking a six-year upward trend.  With representatives from each of the 17 ODAC institutions (including Catholic University for football only and Greensboro College and Notre Dame of Maryland University for swimming only), 1,801 student-athletes earned recognition on the 2014-15 ODAC All-Academic Team.

Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class.  He or she must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the year to be considered for an ODAC All-Academic Award.

Washington and Lee University placed the most student-athletes on the list with 320 individuals on the academic team.  In total, 10 ODAC-member schools eclipsed 100 honorees.  Joining W&L in that group are Bridgewater College (159), Lynchburg College (157), Shenandoah University (156), Randolph-Macon College (147), Roanoke College (117), Virginia Wesleyan College (116), Emory & Henry College (111), Guilford College (110), and Eastern Mennonite University (104).
