ODAC Players of the Week

BASEBALL - PITCHER
James Walsh, Randolph-Macon, Sr., Pitcher
Walsh, a senior from Mechanicsville, Va., came out missing bats as he tossed six scoreless innings in the Yellow Jackets 6-0 triumph over Southwestern (Texas). After walking the first batter of the game, he registered a career-best 14 strikeouts, including a stretch of nine consecutive batters walking back to the dugout. R-MC's southpaw surrendered just two hits on the day.

BASEBALL - HITTER
Mitchell Keeler, Randolph-Macon, Sr., Catcher
Keeler, a senior from Mechanicsville, Va., starting off his season on the right foot as he helped Randolph-Macon to a trio of wins. The Yellow Jackets backstop, who caught a 6-0 shutout over Southwestern (Texas) in the second game of the week, reached safely in seven of his first 12 plate appearances. He went 5-for-10 with two doubles, three runs scored and six runs driven in. He also walked twice. He had two hits and three RBI against Southwestern, and two hits, two runs scored and two RBI with a walk in a 9-8 win over Millsaps.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD
Darin Council, Bridgewater, Jr., Jumps/Throws
Council, a junior from Stafford, Va., continued his run of strong outings at the Crusader Challenge. Council bettered his own ODAC top mark in the triple jump, finishing in the sand 14.01 meters from where he started to win the event. That mark also sits 16th in NCAA Division III ranks. Council also led the Eagles efforts in the shot put, tossing the apparatus 12.49 meters to place 12th in the event.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK - TRACK
Alec Thibodeaux, Eastern Mennonite, Jr., Mid-Distance/Distance
Thibodeaux, a junior from Mount Sidney, Va., put his name on two more EMU records by winning both the mile run and 800-meter run at the Crusader Challenge. Thibodeaux posted an ODAC-best time of 4:19.61 in the mile, which also ranks 47th in NCAA Division III. He won that race by six-seconds over the next closest competitor. He added another ODAC top-five mark in the 800-meter run at 1:59.24.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - FIELD
Dana Lee, Washington and Lee, Jr., Jumps/Sprints
Lee, a junior from Nashville, Tenn., posted national top-20 marks in a pair of events at the Vince Brown Invitational. In the long jump, she bettered her own ODAC top mark with a leap of 5.59 meters. That was third overall and ranks fifth in NCAA Division III. On the track, Lee set a new Washington and Lee record with a third place time of 0:25.97. It also tops the ODAC seasonal charts. Lee completed her efforts by running the anchor leg of the Generals' second placed 4x400-meter relay team, which tops the conference charts at 4:07.58.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK - TRACK
Hannah Chappell-Dick, Eastern Mennonite, Sr., Mid-Distance
Chappell-Dick, a senior from Bluffton, Ohio, picks up her second straight weekly honor after posting a national top-five time for in yet another event. Aftern establishing NCAA Division III's 10th-best time in the 800-meter run a week ago, Chappell-Dick bettered that mark by nearly three seconds in winning the event at the Crusader Challenge. Her new school-record time now sits at 2:13.42, just 0.01 seconds faster than her own previous EMU standard. It ranks fourth in the country. Chappell-Dick also ran a leg of the fourth place 4x400-meter relay team that chimed in at 4:15.34.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Isaiah Harris-Winn, Eastern Mennonite, So., Wing
Harris-Winn, a sophomore from Frederick, Md., helped the Royals to a pair of wins last week. Winn averaged 20.5 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 52.0-percent from the field in Eastern Mennonite's victories at Shenandoah and against Randolph-Macon. He opened with 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting and 6-of-8 from the line at SU. He added six rebounds, two assists and a steal. Harris-Winn buried a trio of three-pointers for the second straight game in EMU's home victory over R-MC. He finished with 18 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists and a steal. For the season, Harris-Winn is seventh in the ODAC in scoring (15.4 ppg). He's fifth in three-pointers made (47) and eighth in defensive rebounds (92) on the way to 5.9 rebounds per game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Taylor Blevins, Emory & Henry, Fr., Guard
Blevins, a freshman from Abingdon, Va., continued her strong rookie campaign in helping the Wasps to a pair of ODAC wins to secure third place in the conference standings. Blevins started her with the first of two double-doubles with 26 points and 15 rebounds in a 71-48 win at Hollins. She was 10-of-13 from the field and added three assists to her stat line. Blevins followed with that with 19 points and 14 boards against Randolph. She again shot well, going 6-of-10 from the field and 7-of-9 from the foul line. She chipped in two assists and two steals in addition to increasing her season double-double total to eight, which is tied for third in the ODAC. Blevins, who averages 13.0 points per game, is second in the ODAC in rebounding at 9.5 boards per contest. She is also second in field goal shooting (100-of-170, 58.8%), third in total rebounds (189) and ninth in blocked shots (14).
