SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Susan Mahoney, Washington & Lee
University
Mahoney, a sophomore from Richmond, Va., paced
Washington & Lee to a sweep victory over Randolph-Macon Woman's
and Hollins in a tri-meet. She earned a pair of first place
finishes, winning the 200-yard backstroke (2:19.07) and the
1,000-yard freestyle (11:12.06). She also finished second in
the 200-yard individual medley (2:18.14).

Kim Edmonds, R-M Woman's | Team went 1-1 at tri-meet; won three events including 100 breaststroke (1:07.96), 200 breaststroke (2:30.54) and 200 IM (2:14.43) in which she reset her own school record. |
MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Melvin Queen, Bridgewater College
Queen, a junior from Chesapeake, Va., turned in a
strong performance in the 55-meter dash at the VMI Winter
Relays. He finished fourth in the preliminaries, then ran
6.56 seconds to win the semis and ran 6.66 seconds in the finals to
win the event.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Meredith Withers, Roanoke College
Withers, a junior from Swoope, Va., won the 55-meter
hurdles at the VMI Winter Relays in 8.73 seconds. The showing
was a personal-best and the top time in the ODAC this season.
She also placed second in the high jump, clearing 4-feet 11-inches,
and finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 15-feet
4.75-inches.
