ODAC Student-Athletes Complete Conference-Wide Food Drive
Guilford College Leads the Way with Over 2,100 Items Donated
Salem , Va -
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee (ODAC SAAC) recently completed its conference-wide
community service project. The 26-member committee worked together,
with individual campus SAACs, to collect canned goods for the
third-annual ODAC Food Drive.
The drive, which concluded recently, was a huge success with the
conference SAACs working to collect food items for local food
pantries and shelters across the Commonwealth. The conference-wide
group accumulated nearly 9,215 items that were distributed earlier
this week. This year's total well surpassed the 6,800 items
from a year ago.
Each campus SAAC kept a tally to determine which conference school
had the most successful food drive. Guilford won the contest by
collecting 2,186 total items. Hollins finished in second with
1,771 items donated followed by Washington and Lee with 1,627.
