Shenandoah Set to Travel for NCAA Baseball Regional Play

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Shenandoah University will be the lone squad to represent the ODAC in the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament, as announced by the NCAA on www.ncaa.com Monday morning.  The Hornets will take to the road for regional play as they embark on their second straight trip to the national tournament.

The baseball tournament begins this coming week with all 56 teams in action in regional competition, May 13-17.  Winners from the eight regionals will advance to the national championship series, May 22-27. All games in regional action will be played on the campuses or facilities of the hosts. The national championship series will be played at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis.

Shenandoah (27-8-1) heads to Washington, Pa., to play in a six-team regional hosted by Washington & Jefferson College (28-15).  SU, which will play as the fifth seed in the double-elimination bracket, has not faced any of the other five squads in the regional.  In addition to W&J, Adrian College (33-10), Frostburg State University (37-6), Heibelberg University (31-12) and LaRoche College (30-11) will make their way to W&J's Ross Memorial Park.  SU opens with Adrian.
