Luke Nussman, Shenandoah, Jr., First Base

Nussman, a junior from Kingsport, Tenn., hit safely in five of six games and drove in at least one run in five games to help the nationally 22nd-ranked Hornets to a 6-0 week. Nussman went 12-for-26 (.462) overall with a double, triple, two homers, 10 runs scored, nine runs driven in, and a stolen base in the half-dozen victories. He doubled and homered with three RBI and three runs scored in a 19-2 win over E&H in game one of a sweep. He homered again in the second game, helping SU to an 18-3 victory. He had three hits including a triple with two RBI in a 17-3 non-conference win at York (Pa.). Capped his week with two hits and two RBI in an 11-0 non-conference win over Neumann. For the season, Nussman his hitting .320 with seven doubles, three homers, and 21 RBI.

Baseball Player Weekly Honor Roll

Jacob Talley, BC: went 7-for-17 with two doubles, six RBI, and six runs scored in a 4-2 week for the Eagles. Went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored in a 12-7 setback in game two at Hampden-Sydney.

Daniel Scott, EMU: went 5-for-15 with two homers, four RBI, and three runs scored in four games for the Royals. Homered in back-to-back ODAC games, with a shot at BC (L, 10-7) and a solo homer at Guilford (L, 7-6) to go with three RBI.

Brett Shapcott, GC: went 6-for-14 with two doubles, five RBI, and three runs scored in a 3-0 week for the Quakers. Had two hits in each outing. Registered all five of his RBI in a 12-5 victory over E&H. Went 4-for-9 in a sweep of EMU (7-6, 4-3).

Jeff Butler, R-MC: went 10-for-17 with a double, homer, three RBI, six runs scored, and three walks in a 4-0 week for the Yellow Jackets. Went 4-for-4 with a double, homer, and three RBI in a 10-1 non-conference win over N.C. Wesleyan. Had three hits with a walk in a 17-9 non-conference win at Methodist.

Brandon Kussmaul, VWU: went 5-for-8 with a double, three runs scored, and three RBI in a trio of ODAC wins including a sweep of nationally fourth-ranked Roanoke. Had two hits with two walks in game one (7-2) against the Maroons, and his sac fly brought in the eventual winning run in a 4-3 win in game two.
