Counts, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., brought out his power bat to help Hampden-Sydney to a 2-1 week. Counts slashed .600/.667/1.467 as he went 9-for-15 with a double, four homers, three walks, nine RBI, and nine runs scored. He opened with a 4-for-5 day in an 11-3 win over Lynchburg. He drove in a run and scored three times to go with a double and a steal. In a split with Shenandoah, Counts belted two homers in game one to go with four RBI and three runs scored in a 20-6 victory. He left the yard two more times in game two, driving in a pair and scoring three more runs in a 17-14 setback. He walked three times in that series. For the season, Counts is fifth in the ODAC with a .378 average and fourth with a .615 slugging percentage. He is first in runs scored (39) and total bases (83), second in hits (51), and third in homeruns (7). He is ninth with 29 RBI.
