Watch W&L Battle Guilford via Live Internet Webcast
SALEM, Va. --- How would you like to be able to
take in all the action of your favorite ODAC squad from the comfort
of your own home, regardless of your location? For some, that
already happens either through radio, television, or Internet radio
webcasts. But what if you're too far away for radio and
television, and enjoy Internet broadcasts but would love to see
every touchdown, sack, and penalty flag?
For the first time the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), in
conjunction with Penn Atlantic, WDRL-TV, and Washington & Lee
University, will be webcasting not only the sound bytes from a
conference football game, but all the LIVE video action as
well!
In what is billed as one of the top games in the ODAC this season,
Guilford College makes the trip from Greensboro, N.C., to square
off with conference-leading Washington & Lee. The
Quakers, coming off their upset of six-time defending ODAC champion
Bridgewater College, look to unsettle the top of the conference
fixtures for a second straight week. The Generals carry a
five-game winning streak into the contest, having won each of their
three league match ups thus far.
You will be able to access the game from several locations.
The ODAC website (www.odaconline.com) will post the
broadcast link to its front page prior to Saturday's
kick-off. You can also pick up the feed from W&L's
website (www.wlu.edu) as well as
Guilford's website (www.guilford.edu). Each of
these links will redirect you to the Penn Atlantic website (www.pennatlantic.com) from
which you will be able to access the game.
The announcers for the contest are courtesy of WLUR, Washington
& Lee's school station. The three man team of Doug Chase
on play-by-play, Neil Sheaffer providing color commentary, and
Jeremy Franklin patrolling the sidelines will bring you all the
action live from Wilson Field.
In order to view the broadcast, you will have to be using a
high-speed Internet connection (preferably above 700 kbps download
speed). The feed will not work with a dial-up set up.
You will also need Windows Media Player 9.0 or 10.0.
For AOL users, you will not be able to access the Penn Atlantic
website via the AOL browser (due to firewall). If you use
Internet Explorer (installed on every Windows-based PC) instead,
you will have no problems viewing the game.
For Macintosh users, please view the "FAQ" section of the Penn
Atlantic website to learn about how you can view the game.
Scroll down near the bottom of that section to the "Can I watch a
game on my Macintosh?" question to learn how to view the game.
