Week two of the 2014 season had a little bit of everything as ODAC squads went 5-2 against non-conference competition.  Bridgewater College, Emory & Henry College and Guilford College all won for the second time in as many weeks, while Hampden-Sydney College and Randolph-Macon College picked up their first victories of the year.

Four afternoon games and three night contests dotted the schedule.  The first final of the day went to Randolph-Macon as the Yellow Jackets drubbed Averett University, 48-16.  Hampden-Sydney came out on top of Christopher Newport University, 35-30, in a game that featured three ties.  Emory & Henry trailed Maryville College (Tenn.), 13-0, late in the third quarter, but defense helped the Wasps squeeze out a 14-13 triumph on the road.  Washington and Lee University dropped its second game of the season, falling at Sewanee, 21-19, despite a late comeback attempt.

In one of three evening affairs, Bridgewater showed off its newly renovated athletic facilities -- Jopson Athletic Complex and Nininger Hall -- with a 43-14 thumping of Greensboro College.  Guilford racked up almost 600 yards of total offense in disposing of Methodist University, 52-20.  Shenandoah got to within three points late in the third quarter, but couldn't muster any more points in its loss to Frostburg State University, 20-10.

Guilford quarterback Matt Pawlowski earned the ODAC Offensive Player of the Week award, while Emory & Henry defensive back Roth Healey took home the ODAC Defensive Player of the Week honor.  Pawlowski threw for 418 yards and six touchdowns on 28-of-39 (71.8%) passing.  Healey racked up a team-best nine tackles with a TFL, batted down a pass, intercepted another, and returned a fumble 72 yards for the Wasps' first points in their comeback victory.
