Emory & Henry Wins ODAC Football Play of the Week Award

FOREST, Va. --- The closest competition in the ODAC Football Play of the Week to-date came down to the final minutes.  Emory & Henry College beat Randolph-Macon College by the smallest of margins since the inception of the ODAC fan poll last season, earning the Wasps the week two honor.

Trailing 13-0 late in the third quarter, the Wasps' defense put the first points on the board, setting the stage for E&H's comeback win.  As the Maryville quarterback rolled out, he lost control of the ball.  Roth Healey scooped it up, eluded one would-be tackler and darted 72-yards before diving to the pilon to beat the Scots' offense to the end zone for a touchdown.  Healey, who added nine tackles and an interception to his day, was named the ODAC Defensive Player of the Week.

All three plays garnered more than 100 total votes and were viewed more than 1,000 times on YouTube and the ODAC website.  Emory & Henry's fumble return by Healey earned 40.35-percent of the vote, narrowly edging Randolph-Macon's touchdown pass to Mike Doe (39.57%).
