FOREST, Va. --- We have a new winner from
our contingent of plays in week seven. Guilford College came
out on top, picking up its first win this season and fourth win
overall when combined with last season's weekly results.
After Bridgewater pulled to within seven points at 35-28 with
2:20 to play and recovered the ensuing on-side kickoff, Guilford
needed a defensive stand to come away with the victory. With
under a minute to play, the Quakers defensive line stopped
Bridgewater on a 4th-and-1 rushing attempt from its own five yard,
turning the ball back over to the Quakers to run out the clock and
return to the win column.
The three plays in this weeks contest garnered nearly 400 votes
from ODAC and NCAA Division III football fans. The Quakers'
short yardage stand garnered 51.10-percent of the vote. The
three plays were watched more than 550 times on the ODAC website
and YouTube channel.
