Washington and Lee Wins ODAC Football Play of the Week Award

FOREST, Va. --- It started with Washington and Lee University, and it ends with Washington and Lee.  For the second time this season, the Generals won the ODAC Football Play of the Week fan poll, with this week's recognition joining the win in the season's first contest.

Leading by just four points at 27-23 with less than four minutes to play, W&L running back Jimmy Dugan put an exclamation point on his best rushing day of the season.  He took an inside hand-off and burst thru a hole in the middle of Shendoah's defense.  His sprint continued for 57 yards to the end zone to put the Generals' ahead, 34-23 with 3:38 to go.  W&L would go on to win, 40-23, with Dugan racking up 143 yards on just six carries.

The four plays in this week's contest garnered nearly 500 votes from ODAC and NCAA Division III football fans.  Dugan's race to the end zone earned 35.70-percent of the vote.  The four plays were watched more than 700 times on the ODAC website and YouTube channel.

The regular season competition is now, but that doesn't mean we don't have more for you.  After the Thanksgiving break, be on the lookout for the ODAC Football Play of the Year fan poll in which each of the 11 weekly winners will be pitted against each other.  YOu get to determine which one stands above the rest.
