Two logjams dot the ODAC standings following seven overall weeks and three weekends of league play, with Washington and Lee standing alone at the top with a 3-0 ODAC mark following its 48-34 triumph over Guilford. Emory & Henry handed Randolph-Macon its first loss of the season with a 27-20 result, while Hampden-Sydney made it two straight with a 33-28 triumph at Catholic. Shenandoah also added its second victory in as many weeks via a 34-10 score at Bridgewater.

THE GAMES

WASHINGTON AND LEE 48, GUILFORD 34 -- Box Score
Washington and Lee ran for 498 yards and posted seven rushing touchdowns on the way to its 11th straight victory against ODAC foes with a 48-34 result at Guilford. The win ended the Quakers' 14-game home winning streak.

EMORY & HENRY 27, RANDOLPH-MACON 20 -- Box Score
Emory & Henry intercepted four Randolph-Macon passes and showcased a balalanced offense with two rushing and two passing scores to hand the Yellow Jackets their first loss of the season, 27-20, on Saturday in Emory.

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY 33, CATHOLIC 28 -- Box Score
It was a tale of two halves as Catholic out-scored Hampden-Sydney 28-6 in the second half, but the second-half burst proved not enough to overcome H-SC's 27-0 start as the Tigers held on for a 33-28 victory in Washington, D.C.

SHENANDOAH 34, BRIDGEWATER 10 -- Box Score
Shendoah forced five Bridgewater turnovers and kept the Eagles out of the end zone until 16-seconds remained in the third quarter as the Hornets rattled off their second straight victory, 34-10, in Bridgewater on Saturday.

ODAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSE: Washington and Lee University running back Marshall Hollerith, a senior from Richmond, Va., spearheaded a Generals rushing attack that ran its way into the top-five in the ODAC record books to lead Washington and Lee to a 48-34 victory at Guilford.  Hollerith led W&L with 123 yards and two touchdowns on 26 rushes as the Generals' workhorse. His touchdowns covered six and two yards, that latter of which brought W&L to within three points at 17-14 after trailing 17-7 early on. Hollerith's efforts led a 498-yard seven-touchdown rushing day from the Generals. The 498 yards rank fifth in the ODAC's single-game record books, while the seven touchdowns tie for fourth with a 2012 Generals' performance against Randolph-Macon and 2007 showing by Bridgewater against McDaniel. Hollerith crossed 3,000 career yards (3,046) in the win over Guilford, moving him to within 95 yards of second place on Washington and Lee's all-time rushing list. For the season, Hollerith has registered 412 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

DEFENSE: Shenandoah University linebacker Malik Sims, a senior from Suitland, Md., put together a strong performance in helping the Hornets to their second straight victory with a 34-10 result at Bridgewater. Sims led all players with 14 total tackles that included 12 solo stops. His biggest contributions came on a pair of goal line turnovers, which helped keep the Eagles out of the end zone until 16-seconds remained in the third quarter. His first turnover came on the game's opening drive with Bridgewater on SU's 1-yard line. Sims recovered a fumble by a BC running back, putting an end to an 8-play 68-yard opening drive for the Eagles. Sims again snuffed out an Eagles' possession at the goal line with SU leading 3-0 midway thru the second quarter. With BC at the 19-yard line, Sims stepped in front of a pass headed for the end zone and intercepted it, returning it to the 8-yard line and ending a 12-play drive that began at the Eagles' 7-yard line. SU made the turnover count with a touchdown 10 plays later for a 10-0 lead. For the season, Sims is sixth in the ODAC with 51 total tackles and second with 36 solo stops.
