Bridgewater Wins First ODAC Football Play of the Week Poll of 2018

FOREST, Va. --- The first week of the ODAC Football Play of the Week Fan Poll returned with a strong competition among the four nominees. Bridgewater College proved the winner in the end, with Demetreus Jalepes' run narrowly eclipsing Nate Hill's interception return for Shenandoah University.

Bridgewater went on the road and picked up a 34-17 victory at Gettysburg. The Eagles offense ripped off a pair of 52-yard touchdown plays, including this rush by Demetreus Jalepes where he kept his feet and darted half the field for a 27-10 lead with 3-seconds on the third quarter clock. Jalepes finished with a game-high 79 yards rushing on 12 carries.

This week's four nominees were voted on by more than 400 ODAC football fans and garnered more than 5,000 impressions, views, and interactions on the ODAC website, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Jalepes' run earned 38.2-percent of the fan vote with Hill's return for SU capturing 35.5-percent of the tally.
