FOREST, Va. --- The offense was in full gear for ODAC teams in week two as six of the seven squads in action scored 23 points or more with Guilford eclipsing 60 points to lead the way. Conference teams went 5-2 in non-league play, leaving four teams unbeaten thru the first two weeks.

Two teams sit 2-0 following consecutive wins. Shenandoah opened a five-game home stand with a victory, while Washington and Lee stayed on the road to collect its second triumph. The two squads combined for 106 points in their wins. Guilford posted its first result a week later than expected due to the weather cancellation in week one. That didn't keep the Quakers from posting a season-best 61 points in moving to 1-0.
The remaining unbeaten team is Emory & Henry, which was idle on its schedule bye week. Ferrum, which fell to the Wasps last week, posted its first win in the Panthers ODAC-era to even its record at 1-1. Randolph-Macon also moved to 1-1 with a home win over Averett.
Bridgewater and Hampden-Sydney came up on the short-end of the scoreboad, leaving the Eagles with a 1-1 record and the Tigers looking for its first victory.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Guilford running back De'Eric Bell, a senior from Jackson, Ga., assaulted by the ODAC and Guilford record books in the Quakers 61-35 victory over Methodist University. Bell ran the ball 24 times and racked up 225 yards and a school-record five touchdowns on the ground. He is just the fourth player in ODAC history to rack up five touchdown runs. His 30 points tied for fourth in the conference record book. The 225 yards rushing mark his third 200-plus yard game and accounted for the bulk of his 284 all-purpose yards. He scored on runs of 34, 13, six, six and 10 yards. Bell now owns Guilford records for scoring (286 points) and touchdowns (47), both of which rank third in ODAC history.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Guilford defensive lineman Jarrod Russ, a junior from Columbia, S.C., was more than eager to get back on the field after week one's weather cancellation as he helped Guilford to a 61-35 win over Methodist University. Russ was ever-present in the Monarch's backfield, registering 4.5 tackles for a loss of a seven total stops. He cost Methodist 25 yards of offense on those five plays. That total included 3.5 sacks for a loss of 17 yards. He forced a fumble on one of those quarterback hits. Russ helped Guilford to five total team sacks and three forced turnovers.
