FOREST, Va. --- Seven of the ODAC's eight football playing members were in action on Saturday with Ferrum the lone non-participant due to its scheduled bye week. Six squads participated in league contests leaving just one team unbeaten in the conference standings, while Emory & Henry closed out its non-conference slate.

Randolph-Macon stands alone at the top of the league standings at 2-0 following its 63-34 triumph over Guilford. Washington and Lee and Shenandoah improved to 1-1 with wins over Bridgewater (30-20) and Hampden-Sydney (59-34), respectively, setting up a six-team logjam with .500 conference records. Emory & Henry closed the non-conference portion of its schedule with a loss (41-27) to Thomas More.
All eight schools will be in action next week in conference games with one Thursday night affair and a trio of Saturday outings.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Shenandoah University quarterback Hayden Bauserman, a senior from Woodstock, Va., picks up his second weekly award after leading the Hornets to a 59-34 win over Hampdeny-Sydney. Bauserman set a new program record with 47 completions, the third-most in ODAC history behind 51 in 2011 from former Emory & Henry quarterback Kyle Boden and 48 in 2007 from former Guilford signal-caller Josh Vogelbach. Bauserman finished 47-of-63 for 490 yards and five touchdowns against one interception. He now has seven games of 400 or more passing yards including two this season. He has also now thrown five or more TD passes in a game eight times, each coming in the past two seasons. Bauserman completed passes to 10 different receivers against H-SC, with Jalen Hudson hauling in a team-best 13 balls. Six receivers had 49 or more yards. For the season, Bauserman leads the ODAC in passing yards (1,851), touchdowns (23), completions (175), attempts (258), completion percentage (67.8), and passing efficiency (154.4). For his career, Bauserman currently ranks third in passing touchdowns (112) and completions (913) and fourth in passing yards (10,494) in ODAC history.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Washington and Lee University defensive back Patrick Ryan, a senior from Darien, Conn., helped the Generals return to the win column with a 30-20 result at Bridgewater. Ryan was twice involved in the turnover game with a fumble recovery for a touchdown and an interception to go with four tackles. His fumble recovery came with 4:49 left in the first half as he scooped up the loose ball and made his way 37 yards to pay-dirt for a 27-6 lead. That was the first fumble recovery for a touchdown by a Generals defender since October 7, 2006, just a day short of 12 years. Ryan's interception helped seal W&L's win as he came down with the turnover to end Bridgewater's final drive of the game with 4:30 to play in the fourth quarter. For the season, Ryan has 12 tackles (11 solo) to go with this week's two turnovers.
