Byrd, a junior from Manassas Park, Va., had a career-day in the
Yellow Jackets 47-23 road win at Shenandoah. He racked up
career-highs of 33 carries and 219 yards, the best rushing output
for a back in the ODAC this season. He averaged 6.6 yards per
rush, adding a pair of touchdowns to his day. His efforts
spearheaded a 361-yard rushing explosion by R-MC, which in turn led
to a 41:39-to-18:21 advantage in time of posssession. Byrd
scored on carries of one and 16 yards, and helped R-MC set the tone
with 146 yards before halftime. For the season, Byrd leads
the ODAC with 933 rushing yards and a 116.6 yards per game
average.
