Isaiah Farmer, Bridgewater, So., Linebacker
April 05, 2021Farmer, a sophomore from Clover, S.C., helped the Bridgewater defense hold Shenandoah to just 14 points and 325 yards of total for a 22-14 win in their third matchup of the season and the final game for retiring head coach Michael Clark. Farmer posted nine tackles with four solo and one tackle for a loss that cost Shenandoah three yards of offense. He broke up one pass, but his biggest play helped seal the Eagles victory. On the ninth play of SU's final drive, Farmer intercepted the Hornets' signal-caller at the 13-yard line and returned it to the 28 with 1:14 to play and lead to pair of kneel downs before the final horn. For the season, Farmer finished with 32 tackles (15 solo) with 2.5 TFLs and one interception. -
Blake Page, Hampden-Sydney, Sr., Wide Receiver
April 05, 2021Page, a senior from Richmond, Va., picks up the second ODAC weekly award of his career after helping Hampden-Sydney close the first spring campaign in ODAC history with a 49-21 win over Ferrum College. Page caught four passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the contest. Each of his receptions went for 20 or more yards as he averaged 30.3 yards per catch. He and quarterback Tanner Bernard connected on a 33-yard pass play 59-seconds into the second half. They then hooked up on a 20-yard TD pass with 0:42 to go in the third quarter. Page added receptions of 46 yards and 22 yards to his line. For the season, Page finished with 11 catches for 232 yards and three touchdowns.

DJ Baylor, Ferrum, Sr., Defensive Back
March 29, 2021Baylor, a senior from Radford, Va., helped the Ferrum defense hold Guilford to 171 yards of total offense in the Panthers 41-12 victory in Greensboro on Friday. Baylor made five stops from his defensive back position in helping Ferrum limit Guilford to 34 yards rushing. His biggest play came late in the third quarter has he put points on the board with a fumble return for a touchdown. He registered an 11-yard tackle for loss and forced the ball loose. He returned the loose ball 18 yards to pay-dirt to help seal the Panthers second win of the season. For the year, Baylor has made 15 total tackles with an interception to go with his forced and recovered fumble for a touchdown.

Presley Egbers, Randolph-Macon, So., Quarterback
March 29, 2021Egbers, a sophomore from Clifton, Va., picks up his second weekly award of the year after leading Randolph-Macon to a 28-0 victory over Hampden-Sydney in the latest edition of "The Game" at Hampden-Sydney. Egbers accounted for four touchdowns and helped R-MC command the game to the tune of a 37:38 to 22:22 advantage in time of possession. Egbers went 16-of-20 passing for 215 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. The resulted in a 203.3 efficiency rating. His TD passes went to Ricky Mayfield and David Wallis covering six and 19 yards, respectively. Egbers added two rushing TDs of one and three yards, giving him six rushing scores this year. On the season, Egbers is 52-of-76 (.63.8%) passing for 686 yards and nine touchdowns with just two interceptions. He and the 4-0 Yellow Jackets now meet Emory & Henry College in week six with the ODAC title on the line.

Will Pickren, Hampden-Sydney, Fy., Defensive Back
March 22, 2021Pickren, a first-year from Mt. Pleasant, S.C., put together a strong effort is Hampden-Sydney's 43-12 win on the road at Guilford on Friday evening. Pickren registered eight total tackles from his defensive back position including four solo stops. He broke up two passes and came away with his first collegiate interception to setup a Tigers' second half touchdown. Pickren is tied for the team lead with 17 tackles thru three games. Hamden-Sydney is now 3-0 on the season. Its defense allows just 12 points and 163 yards of total offense per game to the opposition.

Tanner Bernard, Hampden-Sydney, Jr., Quarterback
March 22, 2021Bernard, a junior from Lynchburg, Va., put together his best outing in a Tiger uniform on Friday evening as he helped lead Hampden-Sydney to a 43-12 win at Guilford. Bernard was 16-of-26 (61.5%) passing for 309 yards and three touchdowns without an interception for a 199.4 quarterback efficiency rating. Two of his scoring throws covered big yardage. He and Blake Page connected on a 54-yard TD play midway thru the first quarter. Bernard and Ed Newman linked up on an 85-yard catch-and-run to pay-dirt late in the second quarter. Bernard's third TD pass covered 13 yards to Dillon Costello with 17 seconds to play in the first half. Bernard also ran for 22 yards on three carries. For the season, Bernard leads the ODAC in completion percentage (64.6%) in going 51-of-79. He has thrown for 660 yards and six touchdowns against just one interception thru three games.

Shawn Harris, Bridgewater, So., Defensive Back
March 15, 2021Harris, a sophomore from Washington, D.C., was all over the field for Bridgewater as the Eagles leveled their ODAC record at 1-1 with a 26-16 win on the road at Ferrum. Harris collected a game-high 14 tackles on eight solo stops and six assisted tackles. He registered 3.0 tackles for a loss that set the Panthers back 15 yards. On one of his TFLs in the second quarter, Harris stripped and recovered the fumble he caused from Ferrum's running back. He also batted down a pass. For the season, Harris has account for 17 tackles including 11 solo stops.

Hunter Taylor, Emory & Henry, Sr., Quarterback
March 15, 2021Taylor, a senior from Summerville, S.C., put together a three touchdown day as he helped lead Emory & Henry to a 47-6 victory over Guilford in the Wasps' last ODAC regular season game of the season. Taylor, led E&H to scores on five of their first six possessions in the first half and six straight when combined with the first drive of the second half. Taylor threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-17 (64.7%) passing. That included a 23-yard pass to the back of the end zone where Gunner Griffith sprawled out to haul it in and a 70-yard catch-and-run by Elijah Rice. Taylor also charged in from one-yard out as part of a 36-yard rushing day. For the season, Taylor has thrown for 557 yards and four touchdowns against one interception. He has rushed for 54 yards and a score.

Donovan Pinnix, Emory & Henry, Jr., Def. Lineman
March 08, 2021Pinnix, a junior from Eden, N.C., made a living in Southern Virginia's offensive backfield in helping Emory & Henry move to 2-0 with a 47-14 triumph over the Knights. Pinnix, who also stars as a shot put thrower for the Wasps track & field team, led E&H with eight tackle tackles. He registered a pair of sacks amongst 2.5 tackles for a loss that set SVU back 17 yards. One of his quarterback stops was a strip-sack, with the fumble turning into a Wasps touchdown for a 27-7 lead midway thru the third quarter. For the season, Pinnix leads the ODAC with 4.0 sacks and is tied with teammates Ivan Phillips and Jay Swegheimer with 4.5 tackles for a loss. Pinnix's TFLs have cost teams 36 yards of offense.

Presley Egbers, Randolph-Macon, So., Quarterback
March 08, 2021Egbers, a sophomore from Clifton, Va., was both efficient and productive in Randolph-Macon's 25-13 win over Bridgewater on Friday. Egbers accounted for 293 yards of total offense and three total touchdowns. Under center, he was 11-of-14 passing for 190 yards and two touchdowns via a six-yard strike to Zach Bowman and a 73-yard catch-and-run by David Wallis. Egbers also carried the ball 24 times for 103 yards including a one-yard touchdown run. His efforts, along with 109 yards from Justin DeLeon, helped R-MC rack up 261 yards on the ground. For the season, Egbers has completed 21-of-31 passes for 318 yards and five touchdowns without an interception. He has also run the ball for 123 yards and two scores.

Brett Tharp, Bridgewater, Jr., Linebacker
March 01, 2021Tharp, a junior from Baker, W.Va., came up big in the clutch for Bridgewater as the Eagles opened their title defense season with a 27-21 non-conference win over ODAC foe Shenandoah. Tharp posted nine total tackles including seven solo stops including a tackle-for-loss, an interception, and pass breakup. His pass break-up came on third down midway thru the second quarter to halt a Hornets possession. His biggest two plays, however, came on Shenandoah's final two drives. Tharp registered his TFL early in the fourth quarter as Bridgewater forced Shenandoah into a 3-and-out, which the Eagles followed up with a clock-chewing 8:37 drive that finished with a Cameron Gieseman 27-yard field goal. Tharp then came up big with Shenandoah knocking on the door with less than a minute to play. He intercepted a pass at the Eagles' 10-yard line with 46-seconds to play to effectively seal BC's six-point victory.

Grayson Overstreet, Emory & Henry, So., Running Back
March 01, 2021Overstreet, a sophomore from Moneta, Va., enjoys playing Ferrum College as he opened 2021 spring much like he closed 2019 fall against the Panthers in helping Emory & Henry to a 17-0 win on Friday evening. Overstreet carried the ball 32 times and churned out 196 yards at a 6.1 yards per-carry clip. He found pay dirt twice via a three-yard scamper to open the game's scoring in the first quarter and then an eight-yard scoring run with 46-seconds remaining in the first half. Seven of his carries covered more than 10 yards including a 41-yard burst to setup his second touchdown. Over his past two games, both against Ferrum, Overstreet has gained 520 yards on 67 carries with four touchdowns. That includes an ODAC single-game record 324-yard performance in the 2019 season finale.
