Can the Generals Run to Two Straight Titles?
Washington and Lee University ran over, around and through
opponents on the way to setting ODAC and school rushing records,
which ultimately led to the Generals' fifth overall conference
title and second in the last three years. Winning
back-to-back ODAC titles has proven more elusive than 2012 ODAC
leading rusher, Randolph-Macon College back Will McGhee. It's
been seven years since Bridgewater College hoisted the last of its
five straight league trophies. Those seven years have seen
seven different champions, albeit from just three schools ---
Hampden-Sydney College in 2007, 2009 and 2011; Randolph-Macon in
2008; Washington and Lee in 2006, 2010 and 2012.
Whoever is to don the ODAC crown in 2013 will work through a
league that returns 40 All-ODAC performers from a season ago.
Guilford College features eight honorees in addition to the
2012 ODAC Rookie of the Year, quarterback Matt Pawlowski.
Hampden-Sydney and Washington and Lee welcome back six
all-league standouts each, including seven combined first team
selections.
