Generals Send Care Packages to Troops
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Washington and Lee is working with groups across campus and within the community to assemble and send 500 care packages to soldiers in Afghanistan. LC Tops Juniata, Advances in NCAA's
No. 10 Lynchburg got a hat trick from sophomore Jordan Warrington in a 5-3 victory over No. 14 Juniata College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in heavy rain from Shellenberger Field. With the victory, LC advances to take on No. 3 Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa., this Saturday.

ODAC Schools Ready for NCAA Play
ODAC schools put seven teams in the NCAA Division III postseason tournaments set to begin this week. Lynchburg is joined by Virginia Wesleyan in men's soccer. The Hornets and Marlins accompany Washington and Lee in women's soccer. Lynchburg is the ODAC's lone qualifier in field hockey, and Randolph-Macon takes to the courts in volleyball.

EMU Earns Two Top Field Hockey Honors
Eastern Mennonite picked up a pair of top honors amongst the 2009 All-ODAC Field Hockey awards. Alyssa Derstine and Karissa Sauder collected the Player of the Year and ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete awards. VWC's Taylor Harding earned Rookie of the Year accolades, while LC's Enza Steele and WLU's Wendy Orrison split the Coach of the Year honor.

LC Wins ODAC Field Hockey Title
The top-seeded Lynchburg College field hockey team won its fourth-consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title Saturday, knocking off the Eastern Mennonite University Lady Royals 1-0 in play from Shellenberger Field. With the win, LC gains the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament which starts this week.

Hornets, Royals to Meet in Finals
Lynchburg and Eastern Mennonite will be meeting in the finals of the ODAC Field Hockey Tournament for the fourth consecutive year on Saturday as the tourney’s top two seeds advanced with victories in their semifinal contests. The Hornets topped Randolph-Macon , 3-1, while the Royals did the same to Washington and Lee by the same score.

ODAC Players of the Week: Nov. 2
The ODAC regular seasons came to a close and championship action began in earnest over the weekend as teams vie to earn the ODAC's automatic qualifier into their respective NCAA Division III tournaments. Alyssa Derstine (above) helped Eastern Mennonite field hockey finish its regular season on a postive note.

ODAC Field Hockey Pairings Set
Lynchburg and Eastern Mennonite earned byes into the semifinals of the 2009 ODAC Field Hockey Tournament in the sports six-team tourney format. The Hornets garnered the top seed and the Royals enter the ODAC postseason as the second seed. #3 Washington and Lee and #4 Randolph-Macon will host quarterfinals.

Lynchburg Ranked in Region by NCAA
The NCAA released its first set of regional rankings on Wednesday and Lynchburg College sits third in the South Region for Division III field hockey. The Hornets are 14-2 overall and 6-0 in league play with a 13-0 in-region record. Read on for a national statistics report as well.

ODAC Players of the Week: Oct. 19
The ODAC fall seasons are quickly coming to a close with tournament play appearing on the horizon. Sallie Armstrong (above) helped the Generals cause in field hockey with a solid week that included three goals scored and an assist. One of her goals proved the decided in a 1-0 overtime win over Rhodes.

LC's Weir Sets NCAA Goals Record
Lynchburg's Allie Weir set the NCAA Division III Field Hockey career goals scored record on Saturday with four tallies in the Hornets win over Sweet Briar. The senior now owns 121 goals in red and white with eight regular season games remaining to pad her mark.

Hornets 14th in Latest NFHCA Poll
Lynchburg field hockey remains strong on the national scene as well as in the ODAC as the Hornets continue to garner a high rating by the NFHCA. The squad's play so far also has attributed to some high national statistics rankings.

LC's Weir Sets Three Records
Lynchburg's Allie Weir (pictured above scoring her 107th career goal) set three new records over the week. She became Lynchburg's all-time points and goals scored leader as well as becoming the all-time ODAC goals scored leader.

Lynchburg Tops ODAC Preseason Poll
Lynchburg stands atop the 2009 ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll as the league’s coaches tabbed the Hornets to win their fourth straight ODAC crown. Eastern Mennonite (55 pts.) and Washington and Lee (50 pts.) round out the top three positions.

H-SC Heads ODAC Football Poll
Quarterback Corey Sedlar and the Hampden-Sydney Tigers were picked atop the 2009 ODAC Football Preseason Coaches' Poll. Emory & Henry and Bridgewater round out the top three, each joing H-SC with a pair of first place votes. Randolph-Macon grabbed the remaining top nod.
