#7 Quakers Top Bridgewater by a Dozen Strokes

GLEN ALLEN, Va. --- Guilford College was one of only two teams to card a pair of sub-300 rounds over the weekend as the Quakers won the 2010 Ted Keller Memorial team title at Hunting Hawk Golf Course in Glen Allen, Va.  Bridgewater College's Travis Gahman was the only player to finish under-par on the par-72 6,882-yard track, earning him individual medalist honors.

Gahman, a 2010 NCAA Division III Championships final rounds qualifier, signed off on a tournament-best 68 following the opening 18 holes of play on Saturday.  He backed that up with an even-par 72 in round two to win by four strokes over Roanoke College's Brandon Ketron (71-73--144, even-par) and a trio of Quakers tied for third.

Guilford, which entered the tournament as the No. 7 team in the nation in the latest (Sept. 30) Golf World/Nike Golf NCAA Division III Coaches' Poll (http://gcaa.collegiategolf.com/home.jsp?page=1458), saw each of its five competing players finish in a tie for 12th or better.  All 10 of their rounds were no worse than 77, making Guilford the only school without an individual round at 80 or higher.  Mat Hennick (72-73--145), Noah Ratner (72-73--145) and Alex Wise (71-74--145) tied for third while Dusty Roberts (73-74--147) tied for seventh and J.T. Thomas (73-77--150) tied for 12th.
