Washington and Lee's Hall Headlines ODAC Women's Golf Awards

BC's Rogers and Walker, W&L's Gyscek also Honored

FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee University standout Mary-Frances Hall took home two honors to headline the 2015 ODAC Women's Golf Awards, earning the ODAC Golfer and Rookie of the Year accolades.  Bridgewater College coach John Rogers and Generals' mentor Pete Gyscek were tabbed ODAC Co-Coaches of the Year, while the Eagles' Andrea Walker secured ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Hall, a freshman from State Road, N.C., owns the ODAC's top scoring average at 77.57 entering the conference championship.  She's placed in the top-10 in each of the seven events she's competed, winning twice.  Her victories came at the season-opening Hollins/ODAC Preview and the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate, which featured some of the top teams in the country.  She also finished third at the Generals' Invitational and fifth at the TaylorMade adidas Intercollegiate.  Twice she fired rounds of 72, marking her best 18 holes of the season.  Hall is currently ranked 11th in NCAA Division III, according to the Golfstat ratings.

Rogers is in his third season guiding the Eagles' women's golf team.  He's been the only coach in the three-year program's history, and he's seen it improve each season.  Bridgewater is currently just outside the top-25 in the country, rated 30th by Golfstat.  BC entered the ODAC Tournament with a 328.7 team average, second in the league.  The Eagles have won three tournaments, topping the leaderboard at the Hollins/ODAC Preview, Stevenson Fall Invitational and Bridgewater Invitational.

Gyscek, who also leads the Generals' men's golf program, is in his fourth season at Washington and Lee.  The only coach in the program's four-year history, Gyscek has seen his squad quickly become one of the best in the country, ranking seventh on the Golfstat charts.  The Generals lead the ODAC with a 320.3 scoring average and have twice won tournaments, picking up titles at the Generals' Invitational and the Yellow Jacket Invitational.

Walker, a junior from Warsaw, Va., adds this honor to an All-ODAC Third Team selection this season.  In the classroom, Walker boasts a 3.862 grade point average as a Psychology and Biology double major.  A participant on the Bridgewater SAAC, she is a member of several honor societies including Alpha Chi (academic), Psi Chi (psychology) and Philomathes as well as the Flory Fellows Honors Program.  On the course, Walker owns an 84.18 average entering the ODAC Tournament.  In 10 starts, she's placed in the top-10 six times, winning once at the Hollins Spring Invitational.  She posted her best round of the season at that tournament, carding a 74.
