NELLYSFORD, Va. --- Bridgewater College earned three major honors as part of the All-ODAC Women's Golf Awards ceremony following the second round of competition at Wintergreen on Monday evening. This is the second straight year the Eagles have brought home three plaques, although this time just two people were responsible for the load.

Junior standout Christina Herbert and Eagles' mentor John Rogers repeated as the ODAC Golfer and ODAC Coach of the Year, respectively. Herbert added to her awards haul with the ODAC/Virignia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award, which is determined via a nominating and voting process by the ODAC's sports information directors.

The remaining special award went to Washington and Lee University first-year athlete Griffin Foultz, who received ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels in a vote of the league's head coaches.

This season's crop of All-ODAC honorees features just three athletes that earned all-conference awards a season ago. Herbert and W&L junior Liza Freed appear on the All-ODAC First Team for a second straight season, while Generals' standout Mary-Frances Hall makes a return to the top team after an All-ODAC Second Team selection a season. All seven remaining honorees, including Foultz on the first team, did not receive awards in 2016. However, BC's Danielle Cook (second team) makes a return to the list after earning an All-ODAC Third Team placement in 2015.

Herbert, from Williamsburg, Va., is making her third appearance on the All-ODAC First Team. Her season has arguably been her best at Bridgewater, which is saying something given that she won the ODAC individual title in 2015. Rated sixth in the country by Golfstat entering the ODAC championships, she is poised to improve upon that ranking after capturing ODAC individual medalist for a second time. In 10 stroke play events competed this season, she placed in the top-10 each time with nine top-five showings and seven event victories. Herbert won her first four starts of the season back in the fall and highlighted the spring by placing fourth fourth at the ultra-competitive Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational.

In the classroom, Herbert boasts a 3.922 grade point average as a Psychology major with a minor in Neuroscience. She is a multi-honoree on the All-ODAC Academic Team as well as on the Bridgewater College academic honors lists.

Rogers, in his fifth season guiding the Eagles' women's program, led his squad to a second-straight ODAC team championship this past weekend. Bridgewater was slotted 41st in the country by Golfstat heading into the conference tournament. Rogers and his Eagles, along with others in the conference, will look to Monday, May 1, to see if they earn an at-large selection to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Foultz, from San Antonio, Texas, immediate became a key member of a Generals' squad that entered the weekend ranked 17th in the country by Golfstat. She put together a solid 81.2 per round scoring average, finishing 12th at the recently completed ODAC championships. She posted her two best outings of the season entering ODAC weekend, tying for 16th at Jekyll Island and tying for 14th at the Callaway Spring Golf Invitational.
