HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. --- Six players from ODAC member schools are set to take to Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., over the next four days as the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship gets underway.
For the first time in its young six-year history, ODAC women's golf was awarded an automatic qualifier to the national field. Washington and Lee University took advantage of the new provision, turning its conference team title into a trip to the national stage. The Generals won't be the only ODAC golfers on the El Campeon Course as reigning Division III individual champion Christina Herbert from Bridgewater College will defend her title.

Washington and Lee and Herbert couldn't ask for a more favorable starting position on Tuesday morning. The Generals will be one of three teams to open competition on the par-73 layout set at 5,804 yards. W&L will be joined by Washington University in St. Louis and DePauw University in going off hole #1 at 7:30 a.m. and the next four subsequent tee times. Herbert won't be far behind as she hits the course at 9:20 a.m.
Herbert enters the week as the sixth-ranked golfer in Division III. She'll tee off in round one with a pair of players currently rated ahead of her. Jane Hopkinson-Wood from Wittenberg University and Caroline Ordian from the University of Redlands fill out the threesome as the third and fourth-ranked players in the country, respectively.
The Generals field the same team that won the ODAC golf championship two weekends ago. Griffin Foultz will register the first official shot of the championship at 7:30, with Beth Ann Townsend, Hannah Jones, Liza Freed, and Mary-Frances Hall following in that order in 10-minute increments.
