ODAC Athletes of the Week | Golf

FOREST, Va. --- ODAC men's and women's golfers played in a combined five tournaments over the past week with each featuring solid performances by league players. Those earning the ODAC Golfer of the Week honors are Guilford senior James Mishoe and Washington and Lee first-year Megan Kanaby.

MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
James Mishoe | Guilford | Sr.
Mishoe, a senior from Cary, N.C., led nationally fifth-ranked Guilford to a tie for fourth at the Gordin Collegiate Classic hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Columbus, Ohio. In a field that consisted of 12 of the top-24 teams in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Top-25 poll - including each of the top-8 squads - Mishoe finished in a tie of fifth among 75 players after posting three rounds of par or better on the par 72 track set at 7,098 yards at the Columbus Country Club. Mishoe opened with a 4-under 68 thru the first 18 holes, and then continued day one with a 1-under 71 to sit at 5-under 139 thru the opening 36 hills. He held firm on day two, firing an even-par 72 to stay at 5-under and finish at 211, five strokes back of medalist Rob Wuethrich of nationally second-ranked Illinois Wesleyan. Guilford carded team rounds of 283-296-285 to finish at 3-under 864 and tied with Wittenberg for fourth place. Illinois Wesleyan (840), #3 Huntingdon (846), and #1 Emory (853) placed above the Quakers in the team table.

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Megan Kanaby | Washington and Lee | Fy.
Kanaby, a first-year from Chapel Hill, N.C., helped lead nationally 13th-ranked Washington and Lee to fourth place of 12 teams at the Montgomery Country Club Women's Intercollegiate hosted by Huntingdon College. Kanaby finished in solo third place of 71 golfers in a field that feature four ranked squads and four other receiving votes towards the latest WGCA coaches poll. Kanaby opened with a 1-under 71 on the par 72 layout set at 5,806 yards at the Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, Ala. That round is tied for the third-lowest in program history. She turned in a 4-over 76 in round two, finishing at 3-over 147. Washington and Lee placed fourth at 38-over 614. That included team rounds of 302 and 312, with the Generals' first round performance marking the second-lowest team round in program history. Kanaby leads the Generals with a 77.0 per round average so far this season.
