Redwood, a junior from Virginia Beach, Virginia, notched his first collegiate win over the weekend as his one-under-par 143 (71-72) earned him the individual title at the Ted Keller Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon College at Hunting Hawk Golf Course. His opening round 71 tied for the best round of the tournament. Redwood has twice placed in the top five this fall, and currently owns a 73.8 average per round through six rounds of competition.
Golf Honor Roll
Peter Latimer, Guilford College, Senior
Latimer posted the Quakers' low score at the Greensboro
Invitational with a two-round 146... shot an even-par 72 in the
first round and 74 in the second... placed 10th
individually among 72 contestants... tied for first among ODAC
golfers with Bridgewater's John Phillips... helped Guilford place
third in the 13-team field.
Mike Butzgy, Lynchburg College, Senior
Butzgy shot a one-over 73 Sunday to round out a solid
weekend that saw the senior finish three-over, after his opening
round 74. Butzgy helped lead the Hornets to the best team score
(293) on Sunday, as Lynchburg rose from 11th place to
fourth during the second and finishing round at the Ted Keller
Invitational.
Max Wyndorf, Randolph-Macon College, Junior
Wyndorf placed sixth at R-MC's Ted Keller Memorial
Tournament. Wyndorf shot a 73-75-148 to finish four over for the
two day tournament. He has now finished in the top-10 in both
tournaments he has played this fall.
Trae Kresinske, Virginia Wesleyan College, Senior
Kresinske won the Hampden-Sydney Invitational at The Manor
early last week, posting a two round total of 151. He fired
rounds of 75 and 76 on the tough Farmville track, the two lowest
rounds of the tournament.
Tim Gavrich (Junior) and Matt Langan (Senior), Washington
and Lee University
Gavrich and Langan led the Generals showing at the
Greensbory Invitational as both carded two-round totals of
151. Gavrich posted rounds of 74 and 77 while Langan
registered 71 and 80 amongst his two rounds.
