Mishoe, a sophomore from Cary, N.C., has made an immediate impact after transferring from UNC-Greensboro in January. Mishoe completed a wire-to-wire victory at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational over the weekend, posting a 10-under par 206 over three rounds at the Jekyll Island Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Ga. He carded a 5-under 67 in round one powered by five birdies and a pair of eagles. He was 1-over par for his round heading to 520-yard 15th hole, but eagled the par five to set off his eagle-eagle-birdie-birdie finish. Mishoe posted eight birdies in round two, but three bogeys and a triple on his ninth hole of the day left him with a 2-under 70. His final round featured fewer ebbs and flows with five birdies towards a 3-under 69. His efforts helped Guilford to second place in the team standings at even-par 864 (294-286-284) behind champion Methodist University (853).
Men's Golf Weekly Honor Roll
Wes Blaylock, E&H: tied for medalist honors at the Eagle Invitational hosted by Mary Washington at the Augustine G.C. in Stafford, Va. Posted rounds of 74 and 72 to finish at 4-over 146 and tied with Sebastien Bonte from UMW. E&H finished ninth as a team (336-332).
Matt McDonagh, R-MC: finished 28th at the Taylormade/adidas hosted by Ohio Wesleyan. Carded rounds of 81, 80, and 78 to finish at 23-over 239. R-MC was 11th (322-326-316) in the team standings.
Carter Morgan, VWU: chimed in fifth at the Taylormade/adidas at 15-over 231 (78-79-74), helping VWU to seventh (317-329-309) in the team standings.
