Martin, a freshman from Gloucester, Va., started off his collegiate career in winning fashion as he claimed medalist honors at the Tom Kinder Memorial hosted by Bridgewater College at Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Va. Martin's win didn't come without a little extra effort, however, as he and teammate John Ferguson tied for first at 2-under 142 following two rounds on the par 72 layout set at 6,906 yards. Martin birdied the first playoff hole to secure the individual medal. He carded rounds of 70 and 72 against to match Ferguson's total following his 69-73 showing. The pair led the Tigers to a four-stroke win over host Bridgewater in the team standings at 1-over 577 (288-289) for the tournament.
