Washington and Lee seniors Becca Taylor and Elizabeth Webb have been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine College Division Womens Cross Country and Track & Field Team as selected by CoSIDA. Both Taylor and Webb were tabbed to the third team.
Junior sprinter Robin Yerkes has added another trophy to her resume by becoming the 2009 USTFCCCA South/Southeast Region Womens Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.
Washington and Lee cross country and track & field athlete Elizabeth Webb has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships. The award is a $7,500 scholarship for academic work beyond the baccalaureate degree as a full-time or part-time graduate student.
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference was represented well this past weekend at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on the campus of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
The ODAC will be represented by one of its strongest contingents at the 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend as four region top honorees make the trip to Terre Haute, Indiana.
Lynchburg and Washington and Lee came away victorious at the 2009 ODAC Men and Women's Indoor Track Championships. The Hornets ran away with the men's crown while the Generals had enough cushion going into the final event to hold off Roanoke College to claim the women's crown by four points.
Lynchburg College received five first place nods and a total of 34 points to edge out Bridgewater College by three points in the 2008-09 ODAC Mens Indoor Track Preseason Poll. The Eagles picked up the remaining first place vote and tallied 31 overall points in the annual coaches survey.
Roanoke College was chosen unanimously for the second straight season as the top seed in the 2008-09 ODAC Womens Indoor Track Preseason Poll. The Maroons received all six of the coaches first place votes totaling for 36 overall points. Washington and Lee University was a close second seed tallying 30 total points.
Following 10 years of service at EMU, Seth McGuffin has resigned his positions as Head Track and Field Coach, citing personal reasons. During his time at EMU, Seth has served as assistant track and field coach, Sports Information Director, Fitness Center Coordinator, Strength and Conditioning Consultant and did numerous things without an official title.
