R-MC Earns First Round Bye, VWC Hits the Road
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- No. 1 Randolph-Macon College was a certainty to enter the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament after winning the ODAC title and earning the conference's automatic entry. No. 10 Virginia Wesleyan College will also join R-MC on the national stage after earning an at-large bid into the tournament.

Randolph-Macon (26-2), winners of the 2015 ODAC tournament and six
total conference crowns in men's basketball, are in the NCAA
tournament for the sixth consecutive year. R-MC defeated VWC in the
conference finals, 81-74 in overtime, on Sunday, March 1 at the
Salem Civic Center. The top-ranked Yellow Jackets have won
23-consecutive games, a program record. R-MC receives a first round
bye and will face the winner of the Alvernia (18-9)/Catholic (22-5)
game on Saturday, March 7 in second round action at Crenshaw
Gymnasium in Ashland, Va.
Virginia Wesleyan (23-5) is in the field of 62 for the 11th
straight year. VWC will travel to William Paterson (20-7) in
Wayne, N.J. and squares off against John Carroll (20-6) for its
first round contest. A Marlin victory means a matchup with either
host William Paterson or Cobleskill State (17-10) in the second
round.
First and second round action takes place March 6-7.
Sectional play will commence on March 13-14 and the semifinals and
finals will be held on March 20 and 21 at the Salem Civic Center in
Salem, Va.
